About Buddy
πΎπ Meet Buddy β Your Future Four-Legged Shadow! ππΎ
Buddy is a Toy Poodle who is 8 Years & 2 Months old and known as a Professional Cuddle Specialist
If Buddy had his way, there would be absolutely no such thing as personal space.
In fact, we're fairly certain that if he could find a tube of superglue, he'd happily attach himself permanently to his favourite human. πβ€οΈ
Buddy is a gorgeous little Poodle who came into care through a private surrender due to changes in his family's circumstances β absolutely no fault of his own. Sometimes life changes unexpectedly, and sadly Buddy found himself needing a new chapter.
And we think his next chapter should be all about love, companionship and being someone's very special little shadow. β€οΈ
Buddy absolutely adores his people. His favourite place in the world is wherever his human happens to be β beside you, near you, following you or simply keeping an eye on you.
He's not asking for much from life.
Just you. β€οΈ
β€οΈ Buddy Needs His People
This is the most important thing to know about Buddy.
He really, really loves his humans and doesn't enjoy being left alone for long periods.
When left home alone, Buddy can howl because he misses his people.
For this reason, he needs a home where someone is around more often than not.
We're looking for someone who works from home, is retired, semi-retired, works flexible hours or simply enjoys having a little companion by their side throughout the day.
Buddy isn't looking for someone who is out at work for 8+ hours every day.
He's looking for someone who says:
"Come on Buddy, you're coming with me." β€οΈ
ποΈ A Low-Key Little Gentleman
Buddy is a lovely, low-energy boy who is happy relaxing at home with his human.
He does enjoy getting out for a walk and is very good on lead, comfortably managing around 1km and up to 3km when he's feeling adventurous.
But given the choice?
Couch + human wins every time. π
He's toilet trained and sleeps beautifully on his own dog bed beside his human's bed.
During the day, his favourite place is simply anywhere near his human.
πΆ Canine Company?
Buddy does like other dogs, but he's happiest with small dogs.
That said, Buddy would actually love to be your one and only, because that means more cuddles, more attention and more human time available for him.
And Buddy is absolutely willing to take on that responsibility. πβ€οΈ
π§ Kids?
Buddy is comfortable around children 6 years and over.
Cats and other small animals are currently untested.
βοΈ Grooming β Buddy Has Some Feelings About This! π
Buddy is not a huge fan of grooming and can be a little unsure when it comes to the brushing, clipping and general grooming process.
He will need a patient and understanding groomer who is happy to take things slowly, build his confidence and help him learn that grooming isn't quite as scary as he thinks it is.
With time, patience and positive experiences, we're hoping Buddy will become much more comfortable with his grooming routine.
Basically, Buddy would like his future groomer to know that trust must be earned... preferably one tiny brush stroke at a time! πβ€οΈ
π Buddy's Perfect Home
π‘ Someone home more often than not
π» Perfect for someone who works from home
π΄ Great for a retired or semi-retired person
β€οΈ Someone who loves a cuddly companion
πΆ Ideally an only dog, although small-dog company may suit him
π§ Children 6+
πΆββοΈ Happy with gentle daily walks
βοΈ A patient groomer willing to build his confidence
ποΈ Must appreciate a professional couch companion!
Buddy isn't looking for someone to change his world.
He just wants someone to share it with. β€οΈ
If you're looking for a little dog who will happily become your constant companion, follow you from room to room and make sure you never have to go anywhere alone again...
Buddy might just be your perfect little shadow. πΎπ
And we're pretty sure he'll be checking your schedule to make sure "Human Home" is marked as AVAILABLE every day. πβ€οΈ

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period β this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
