A Big Softie Looking for Her Person

Bambi is a gorgeous 35kg Rottweiler x Kelpie with a very sweet nature and a serious case of “I’m actually a lap dog” syndrome.

She is happiest when she’s cuddled up with her people and, if you let her, she’d love nothing more than to sleep on the bed with you. She absolutely loves a good scratch and is often found sprawled out on her back, belly in the air, looking completely content.

Bambi is beautifully toilet trained and will happily hold on until you let her outside, but she’s also very good at letting you know when she needs to go. She’s quite the talker too, and once you get to know her, you’ll quickly learn what she’s trying to tell you.
She loves her walks and is currently doing around 6km a day. She does pull, though, so she needs a physically capable person and ongoing training to help her become the lovely walking companion she has the potential to be. Luckily, she really likes cooked sausage, so she is motivated to please the people!

Bambi can be unsure around other dogs and can become tense and anxious, so she needs a home where introductions can be handled slowly and carefully. She has lived successfully with other dogs. She would be happiest in a child-free home, as she hasn't had enough experience with young children to know that they're playful and non-threatening.

Food isn't really Bambi's motivation in life. In fact, she'll happily ignore her dinner for hours, even when you've gone to the trouble of making it extra tasty. She does enjoy treats, though, so there is hope for bribery!

Bambi is looking for someone who will appreciate her gentle, affectionate nature and give her the time and patience she needs to build confidence and continue working on her manners.
