About Yogi
Yogi is a sweet, delightful Jack Russell Terrier, but if you’re not familiar with the breed, we recommend you do some research before adopting. JRT are energetic, intelligent dogs that need plenty of stimulation and consistent training.
He has only one speed & that is fast, mostly all day. Yogi is so inquisitive and if you need some time out, besides crating, he will play happily in the yard running around & will get toys out of the toy box.
He has played well with his foster sibling 13yr od Terrier Ziggy and sometimes Ziggy has put him in his place but never anything serious.
Sleeping at night Yogi has been in a bed in the bedroom with Ziggy there as well. As soon as he settles down, once lights out he goes to sleep. He seems to wake around 2 am is taken out to the toilet. Yogi doesn't mind a crate and would sleep happily all night there if you chose.
Yogi has been known to be an opportunist and has managed to get out the front door, so his new owners will need to be careful when entering and leaving the house. On one occasion he came face to face with a neighbour's cat and did nothing, so with slow, careful introductions it's possible he could live with a cat.
Yogi absolutely loves liver treats and they will be a great training aid as he will do just about anything for them. He has learnt to sit already. He also loves having his tummy rubbed and enjoys affection just as much as playtime. He responds to his name.
Yogi is a loving, playful little dog who would thrive in an active home that understands the high-energy nature of the Jack Russell breed and is willing to continue his training and provide plenty of exercise and enrichment.
