About Tommy
Tommy was shy and scared when we first met him, and who could blame him? He'd been alone and wandering the streets for who knows how long. But underneath this shy front is a sweet, sensitive soul hoping someone will take a chance on him. Could that special someone be you?
Tommy is searching for a very calm, quiet home where he'll be able to come out of his shell at his own pace. It takes time for him to settle into his new environment and gain the confidence to explore his surroundings.
Tommy spent time in foster care in an adults-only household, and it didn't take long for him to warm up to his carers. When he saw them approaching, he'd perk up and move closer for a pat. Although he enjoyed pats, he preferred to keep all paws on the floor and not be picked up. He's the type of cat who will let you know when he's ready for attention, and when he'd prefer to just enjoy some quiet time on his own.
Tommy is very food-motivated and loves treats - especially squeezy tube treats, which he thoroughly enjoyed while his foster carer was brushing his luscious coat.
This beautiful boy has a calming presence. He appreciates the simple things, like a cosy spot to sit and watch the world go by. He is an expert paw kneader, loves rubbing his chin on any and all surfaces, and purrs instantly when his favourite humans give him a pat.
There's only one thing missing from Tommy's life - his special person, who will give him the lifetime of love and care he deserves. Nurturing a shy, scared cat like Tommy, providing them with a safe home, and helping them gain trust and confidence can be one of the most rewarding experiences.
Tommy is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Tommy - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
