Yarra is the biggest female puppy in ARK’s Far Horizons Litter, weighing 3.97 kgs — although there is considerably more to recommend her than being the biggest girl.

She is a particularly placid little puppy. In fact, Yarra was apparently so unconcerned about her recent veterinary examination that she fell asleep while the vet was examining her.

That takes laid-back to quite another level.

❤️ Meet Mum — Crystal

Yarra’s mum, Crystal, is herself a calm, sweet-natured and affectionate girl who loves her people and is eager to please.

Crystal has raised her eleven babies beautifully and has won the hearts of her foster family along the way — so much so that they have decided she is staying with them.

Dad is an intelligent and active Border Collie of working type.

🏡 A Wonderful Start

Yarra and her siblings have been fortunate to grow up in a family foster home.

They have been gently handled from around two weeks of age and have had early exposure to children, older dogs and chickens, together with the normal activity of everyday life.

🐾 And Yarra?

Yarra currently stands out as one of the calmer characters in this very large family.

She is the biggest of the girls but seems in no particular hurry to make a fuss about anything. Her ability to snooze through part of a veterinary examination certainly suggests a puppy who takes new experiences rather comfortably in her stride.

She is still very young, of course, and her adult personality will continue to develop as she grows, but her placid nature is already rather endearing.

Although calm puppies can sometimes seem “easy”, Yarra will still grow into an intelligent medium-to-large dog and will need the same commitment to training and socialisation as her siblings.

✂️ Deferred Desexing Program

Yarra is being adopted under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program.

Her adoption fee is $695, including the cost of her desexing, subject to the conditions of ARK’s Deferred Desexing Agreement.

Successful applicants will need to sign the agreement and arrange for Yarra to be desexed within the required timeframe.

Yarra is one of eleven Wolfhound x Border Collie puppies born on 28 June 2026.

Her siblings are Mungo, Otway, Broome, Flinders, Arnhem, Daintree, Kiama, Kimberley, Barossa and Eden.
