Barossa is one of eleven gorgeous Wolfhound x Border Collie puppies in ARK’s Far Horizons Litter, raised with great care in a family foster home.
And this clever little girl is already showing just how much potential she has.
Barossa has been taught to sit and stay, and she has also learned to wait for the word “okay” before eating. Her toilet training is progressing beautifully too.
We expect Barossa to mature into a medium-to-large dog, combining the size and gentle nature often associated with the Wolfhound side of her family with the intelligence and energy of a working Border Collie.
❤️ Meet Mum — Crystal
Barossa’s mum, Crystal, is a gentle, affectionate and beautifully sweet-natured girl.
She is calm, eager to please and has been an exceptional mother to her enormous family. Crystal made such an impression on her foster carers that she has now become a permanent member of their family.
Dad is a handsome, intelligent and active Border Collie of working type.
🏡 A Wonderful Start
Barossa and her siblings have been part of family life almost from the beginning.
From around two weeks of age they were gently handled and socialised and have grown up with exposure to children, older dogs and chickens.
That early experience, together with the training she has already received, has given Barossa an excellent foundation for her future.
Her new family will need to continue that work with positive, consistent training, thoughtful socialisation and plenty of involvement in everyday family life.
🐾 And Barossa?
Barossa is still a young puppy with plenty of growing and developing ahead of her, but she is already proving herself to be a bright little student.
She has had an excellent start to life, comes from a lovely-natured mum and an intelligent working-breed dad, and has every opportunity to grow into a terrific family companion.
She now needs a family prepared to take that wonderful beginning and build on it.
🌿 Barossa will need:
✓ Plenty of human companionship
✓ Indoor privileges and a genuine place in family life
✓ Kind, positive and consistent training
✓ Continued careful socialisation
✓ Secure fencing
✓ Age-appropriate exercise and mental stimulation
✓ A family ready for the needs of a medium-to-large adult dog
Puppies are delightful, funny and enormously rewarding — but they also require time, patience, consistency and commitment.
Barossa deserves a family ready for the whole wonderful package.
