About Foxy
🐾 Meet Foxy 🐾
Foxy is a sweet, independent little companion who has spent his whole life with his person and is now looking for a quieter home where he can settle in and feel secure. He enjoys his daily walks, loves riding in the car and is equally happy snoozing at home. He has good house manners, knows his basic commands and is very bonded to his routine and his people.
Foxy is friendly but can be a little wary of strangers, particularly men, and he doesn't always enjoy people reaching out to pat him. He can bark at people he doesn't know, especially when they enter his space, although this is nervous behaviour rather than aggression and he has never bitten anyone. He will need a patient adopter who is happy to let him approach people in his own time rather than expecting him to be an instant social butterfly.
He's also not a fan of young children, who can make him nervous, so an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children would suit him best. Foxy has met plenty of other dogs and generally likes to say hello, although after being attacked by larger dogs he can be a little timid around them. He would be happiest as the only animal in the home, but if he does have canine company, it should be a small, calm dog with a similar quiet nature. He is untested with cats.
Foxy has always had someone around and has rarely, if ever, been left alone. He can bark when left, so he is looking for someone who is home most of the time and can give him plenty of companionship. A quiet household with a predictable routine will likely help him feel most comfortable.
He's a good little walker and enjoys about half an hour of exercise each day, but he's certainly not looking for an action-packed lifestyle. A home with some lawn would be lovely, although he has previously lived happily in a townhouse. He's also very well behaved off lead with his person and has excellent recall. Foxy is comfortable using a dog door, too.
Foxy can be a little fussy with food and has an occasionally sensitive tummy, so his diet needs to be kept simple and consistent. He is currently doing well on his usual dog food and biscuits.
Foxy has been deeply loved throughout his life, and this change isn't through any fault of his own. He's looking for someone who will appreciate his quieter nature, respect his boundaries and give him the time and companionship he needs to feel at home. For the right person, he could make a wonderful, loyal companion.
