About Ollie
🐾 Meet Ollie – Your New Best Friend, Adventure Buddy & Professional Snuggle Expert! 🐾
Some dogs want to be the center of attention…
Ollie doesn't want to be the center of attention — he wants to be wherever YOU are! 😂❤️
This gorgeous 2 year and 3 month old Maltese x, weighing around 8kg, has come into Paw Prints Canine Rescue through no fault of his own due to family circumstances, and he is now ready to find a family who will adore him as much as he will adore them.
And honestly… Ollie is ridiculously cute. 🥰
He's the perfect combination of easy-going couch potato and little adventure buddy. He is quite sedate around the home, but give him a walk, a trip to the park or an adventure with his humans and he's absolutely delighted.
Then, once the day's adventures are done?
It's cuddle o'clock. ❤️
Ollie's favorite place in the world is wherever his humans happen to be. Couch? ✔️
Bed? ✔️
Following you around the house? ✔️
Snuggling beside you? Absolutely! ✔️✔️✔️
He's a little shadow with a huge heart and loves being part of whatever his family is doing.
And if you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh, Ollie comes with a few very cute extras…
He snores! 😴😂
And when he's sniffing something particularly interesting, he has the cutest little piggy snort. 🐷
We think it's pretty adorable.
Ollie absolutely loves children and has a wonderfully gentle and tolerant nature. He enjoys cuddles, pats and belly rubs and is happy to follow the kids around the house. If he's invited onto their bed for a cuddle, he'll happily accept the invitation!
He has previously lived with other dogs and is comfortable around dogs of different sizes. He is also perfectly happy being your one and only dog, provided he gets plenty of love and attention from his humans.
He's been cat tested too. Initially he was simply curious and slowly approached the cat for a sniff. With time they've become comfortable around each other. A dog-savvy cat who understands respectful boundaries would be the best match.
Ollie is also a wonderful little walking companion. He enjoys going for walks and having a run around the park or oval and can comfortably enjoy around 30 minutes to an hour of exercise, depending on the weather and temperature.
He's lovely on lead and doesn't pull, although he does have a serious appreciation for stopping to investigate every interesting smell along the way. 😂
His recall is currently near non-existent, so he must remain on lead unless he is in a securely fenced area. This is something his new family will need to continue working on.
At home, Ollie is beautifully mannered and is learning his basic commands. He's doing well with sit and wait, including waiting before coming inside when asked. He's also not possessive over his food.
He's not particularly interested in toys, but give him a nice chew and he's perfectly happy settling down for the evening.
Ollie is toilet trained, although he doesn't currently tell you when he needs to go outside, so his family will need to give him regular opportunities. If left inside for an extended period, he will use a puppy pad.
He's also learning about crate life. He isn't exactly convinced that the crate is the most exciting place to sleep 😂, but once he's settled in, he generally sleeps through the night without complaint.
Although, if Ollie had a vote…
The human bed wins every time! 🛏️😂
He doesn't suffer from separation anxiety when left home alone, but when his humans ARE home, he would very much like to know exactly where they are at all times.
Because really…
Why would you go into another room without him? 🤷♂️❤️
Ollie does need daily physical and mental stimulation to help him settle properly at night. Once he's had his walk, some sniffing, some exploring and some time with his people, he's very happy to curl up and relax.
His beautiful fluffy coat requires a weekly brush, which he actually enjoys, and the occasional bath keeps him looking and smelling gorgeous. He may also benefit from a summer trim, particularly around his eyes.
❤️ Ollie's Perfect Family
Ollie would suit a variety of homes and would be a wonderful addition to a family with children.
He's looking for:
🐾 A family who wants a loving companion
👧 A home with children of any age
🐶 Happy as an only dog or with another suitable dog
🐱 Potentially suitable with a dog-savvy cat
🚶 A family who will enjoy daily walks and adventures
🧠 Someone who will continue his training and work on recall
❤️ Humans who don't mind having a little shadow following them around
🛋️ And preferably someone willing to share the couch… and possibly the bed!
Ollie isn't looking for anything complicated.
He just wants his people, a comfy couch, some adventures, plenty of cuddles and a family who will make him part of their everyday life.
And in return?
You'll get a happy little companion who will greet you like you've been gone for 10 years, follow you from room to room, snuggle beside you at night and occasionally provide you with his very own snoring and piggy-snorting soundtrack. 😂❤️
If that sounds like your kind of dog, we think you might have just found your new best friend. 🐾💙

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.

Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
