Big Beautiful Benny!

Benny is a sweet and gentle boy who is looking for a patient home that will help him continue building his confidence. Coming from a puppy farm background, he can be quite shy and will often back away when first approached. Despite being nervous, Benny tries very hard to interact with people and will slowly come to you once he feels safe and comfortable. With time and understanding, his sweet nature begins to shine through.

Benny does not enjoy being rushed and may run away or hide if he feels overwhelmed. He has shown no aggression, even when pushed beyond his comfort zone, and is generally accepting of manual handling. The key to helping Benny succeed is allowing him to move at his own pace and giving him time to process new situations without pressure.

Benny could happily live as an only dog or with another calm, friendly small dog. A canine companion may help him gain confidence, but he is also capable of forming strong bonds with his people in a single-dog home. He is currently learning to walk on lead and is happy to give it a go, although he remains slow and cautious as he navigates new environments.

His new family should be committed to continuing his socialisation and positive exposure to new people, places, and experiences. Ongoing leash-walking practice, along with basic manners and reward-based training, will help Benny develop into a confident companion. With patience, kindness, and consistency, Benny is sure to continue making wonderful progress and become a loving and loyal member of his new family. 🐾❤️
