Meet Arnhem — known rather affectionately in his foster home as “Chunker”.

At 4.5 kgs, Arnhem is currently the biggest puppy in the entire Far Horizons Litter, and considerably bigger than some of his brothers and sisters. There is quite a lot of puppy to cuddle here. He is also v-e-r-y placid.

We expect Arnhem to grow into a medium-to-large adult dog, and his current size certainly suggests he has every intention of taking the “large” part of that description seriously.

❤️ Meet Mum — Crystal

Arnhem’s mum, Crystal, is a gentle, affectionate and sweet-natured girl who has raised her extraordinary litter of eleven puppies beautifully.

She is calm, eager to please and such a lovely dog that her foster family have decided to make her a permanent member of their household.

Dad is a handsome Border Collie — intelligent, active and of working type.

🏡 A Wonderful Start

Arnhem and his siblings have been raised in a family foster home and have enjoyed excellent early socialisation.

From around two weeks of age they have been gently handled and have had exposure to children, older dogs and chickens, as well as all the ordinary sights and sounds of life around a busy household.

🐾 And Arnhem?

Well, first there is the obvious: he is a big boy.

Arnhem’s foster family nicknamed him Chunker for good reason. At 4.5 kgs he is the largest of eleven puppies, although he is still very much a baby and his adult personality is only beginning to emerge.

His future family should be looking beyond the roly-poly puppy in the photographs and be ready for the sizeable, intelligent dog Arnhem is likely to become.

✓ A genuine place within his family
✓ Secure fencing appropriate for a medium-to-large adult dog
✓ Kind and consistent training
✓ Plenty of continued socialisation
✓ Regular exercise appropriate to his age
✓ Mental stimulation for that Border Collie brain
✓ Companionship and involvement in everyday family life

Arnhem has had a great beginning. His adopter’s job will be to build upon it.

✂️ Deferred Desexing Program

Arnhem is being adopted under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program.

His adoption fee is $695, including his desexing, subject to the conditions of ARK’s Deferred Desexing Agreement.

Successful applicants must sign the agreement and ensure Arnhem is desexed within the required timeframe.

Arnhem is one of eleven Wolfhound x Border Collie puppies born on 28 June 2026.

His siblings are Mungo, Otway, Broome, Flinders, Daintree, Kiama, Kimberley, Barossa, Yarra and Eden.

Interstate applications are very welcome. ARK regularly adopts dogs interstate and is happy to help successful applicants investigate suitable transport arrangements.
