Broome is one of the eleven beautiful puppies in ARK’s Far Horizons Litter.

He is a particularly handsome little fellow, with a dark blue and white coat like his dad’s, but a little hairier around his face and head, like his mum. At 3.6 kgs he is still a little chap, although we expect Broome to grow into a medium-to-large adult dog.

❤️ Meet Mum — Crystal

Broome’s mum, Crystal, has done a wonderful job raising her eleven puppies.

Crystal is a gentle, sweet-natured and affectionate girl with a calm disposition and a real desire to please. She has been such a lovely dog that her foster family have decided she is staying with them permanently.

Dad is a handsome Border Collie — an intelligent, active, working-type dog — so these puppies have inherited an interesting combination of two clever and capable breeds.

🏡 A Wonderful Start

The Far Horizons puppies have had the great advantage of being raised in a family foster home rather than a shelter environment.

From around two weeks of age they have been gently handled and socialised, including exposure to children, older dogs and chickens. They have grown up surrounded by people and everyday household and farm life.

🐾 And Broome?

Broome’s lovely colouring makes him easy to pick among his siblings. His coat combines his dad’s dark blue and white colouring with some of the length and softness of Crystal’s coat, and we suspect he is going to become an especially striking adult dog.

Like all young puppies, much of Broome’s adult personality is still unfolding. What matters most now is that his good start continues.

🌿 What Broome Will Need

✓ To be part of family life rather than left outside on his own
✓ Kind, consistent training using positive methods
✓ Continued socialisation with people, dogs and the wider world
✓ Secure fencing
✓ Appropriate exercise and mental stimulation as he grows
✓ Plenty of companionship, affection and involvement in everyday life

Broome is likely to mature into a medium-to-large dog, so applicants should be prepared for the needs of an intelligent, active adult rather than choosing him simply because he is currently an irresistibly small puppy.

✂️ Deferred Desexing Program

Broome is being adopted under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program because he is too young to be desexed before adoption.

His adoption fee is $695, including the cost of his desexing, subject to the terms of ARK’s Deferred Desexing Agreement.

Successful applicants will be required to sign the agreement and ensure Broome is desexed within the required timeframe.
