Prince

Meet Prince, a sweet and affectionate boy who is looking for someone special to call his own. Prince would love nothing more than to be someone's loyal best friend and spend his days alongside the people he knows and trusts.

Once Prince gets to know you, he truly enjoys his interactions with people and loves being included. He is a very food-motivated boy, which makes him a fantastic candidate for ongoing positive, reward-based training. He has already worked incredibly hard and has learned many new skills to help him navigate situations that he once found challenging. His progress has been wonderful to see, and he is a testament to what patience, consistency and kindness can achieve.

Prince absolutely loves enrichment and anything that keeps his clever mind busy. Long-lasting chews, puzzle feeders and enrichment toys are firm favourites, along with regular toys that he can chew, chase and enjoy.

Prince is currently supported with behaviour medication, which forms an important part of his overall behaviour and wellbeing plan. It is likely that he will continue on his medication long-term, and his new family will need to be comfortable continuing this as part of his ongoing care, under veterinary guidance.

His new home will also need to be committed to continuing his force-free, reward-based training and helping him build on all the fantastic progress he has already made. With the right guidance, patience, understanding and consistency, Prince has so much potential to continue growing in confidence and enjoying life.

Prince has learned how to remain calm around other dogs by focusing on and engaging with his handler. While he is capable of having some positive interactions with other dogs, he is happiest without canine company and would prefer not to share his home with other animals. Prince is looking for an adult-only home where he can be the only pet.

What Prince really wants is a person or family who will see the wonderful boy underneath it all - a sweet, affectionate, clever and loyal companion who has worked hard to learn and grow.
