About Ted
Meet Ted
With his adorable chipmunk cheeks and gentle personality, Ted is a sweet and affectionate senior gentleman, estimated to be around 9 years old, who is looking for a safe and loving home of his own.
Ted came into care after living in a garden in Sydney CBD. He initially needed some veterinary care, and while helping him get back on his feet, it quickly became clear just how lovely this boy is.
Ted absolutely adores pats and affection. He can still be a little shy indoors when something is new, but he is doing amazingly well and has settled into his indoor journey beautifully. He isn’t even bothered much by the vacuum cleaner!
There are certainly a few things Ted has discovered he really likes about indoor life — particularly unlimited access to food and treats, with roast chicken ranking very highly on his list of favourites.
When he isn’t enjoying a meal or collecting pats, Ted loves a good nap and has very clearly started his early retirement in his cat bed. He is a gentle, easygoing boy who enjoys having people around and is easy to handle.
Ted has recently had a dental and is in great shape for a gentleman of his age. His cloudy eye is the result of an old, fully healed injury. It has been assessed by a specialist, is not painful and doesn’t bother him or require any treatment.
Ted has been relaxed around other cats while in care and may enjoy sharing his home with a friendly feline companion following slow introductions. He would be equally happy being the centre of attention in a calm home of his own.
Ted is FIV positive and is looking for a secure indoor home where he can continue enjoying his new life.
For Ted, the ideal retirement plan is pretty simple: a comfy cat bed, good food (roast chicken appreciated), plenty of naps and, most importantly, lots of pats.
Medical notes
FIV+: FIV is a feline immune system condition and cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs. It is primarily spread between cats through deep bite wounds, and therefore unlikely between peacefully cohabiting cats.
Ted is currently healthy for his age and has shown no aggression towards the resident cats in care. As with any new cat, slow and careful introductions to feline housemates are recommended.

Ideally, Ted’s adoption will begin as a foster-to-adopt, giving both Ted and his potential adopter time to get to know each other and make sure it is the right fit. The timeframe is flexible and can be discussed individually. Direct adoption is also possible.
A meet and greet with Ted is preferred. If this isn’t possible, a video call will be required. We might also ask for photos or a short video of Ted’s prospective home so we can make sure the environment is suitable and secure for him.
When getting in touch, please tell us a little about yourself and Ted’s potential home, including who lives in your household, the size and type of your home, whether you currently have any pets, and your previous experience caring for pets.
The aim is simply to find the right match for Ted and make his transition into his new home as smooth as possible.
