About George
George is the kind of cat who doesn't just live with you, he likes to be part of whatever you're doing.
During his time in foster care, George quickly showed everyone what a happy, affectionate boy he really is. He loves following his people around the house, weaving between their legs and making sure he's never too far away from the action. Simply walking into the room can be enough to start his purr motor, and before long he'll be lying in front of you, patiently waiting for the pats he knows he deserves.
George isn't particularly interested in being the most energetic cat in the house. He'll have a little wander to see what's happening, but most of the time he'd much rather find somewhere comfortable, enjoy some affection, and relax. Sunbathing is another favourite hobby, along with anything involving treats. His foster carer described him beautifully: "George is such a happy, loving boy." And honestly, that seems to sum him up perfectly.
He also shared his foster home with another adult cat. While he was a little unsure at first, he soon warmed up and became comfortable enjoying their company. Like any introduction between cats, a slow and thoughtful approach in a new home will help everyone start off on the right paw.
George may seem a little shy or tense when he's somewhere unfamiliar, but we've had the chance to see what he's really like once he's comfortable, and there's a wonderfully loving companion waiting underneath. If you're looking for a gentle boy who'll follow you around, greet you with purrs, and happily spend his afternoons snoozing in a patch of sunshine, George could be the one.
We encourage you to come and meet George at our North Melbourne shelter as soon as possible, as our cats cannot be placed on hold. We think this golden boy is very ready to have someone to follow around again.
