Meet Nugget, a sweet, clever and affectionate young man looking for his forever home! ❤️

Nugget is the perfect mix of loyal companion and energetic working breed. He is an absolute sweetheart who loves nothing more than following his people around and curling up for cuddles on the couch. Once he’s bonded with you, he will be your shadow and your biggest fan.

This handsome boy is incredibly smart and eager to please. He picks up commands quickly and knows his basics very well (especially when there aren’t too many exciting distractions around!). Like any young working breed, he is still learning that the world is full of interesting things and is continuing to work on focus and listening when there are distractions.

Nugget walks beautifully on lead and generally doesn’t pull, although the occasional exciting smell or discovery may test his manners, a quick redirection and a “this way” is usually all it takes for him to get back on track.

Nugget will thrive with an owner who understands working breeds and is willing to provide him with clear boundaries, consistency and ongoing training. He is a clever boy who loves having a job and will need someone who can confidently guide him and help him continue becoming the best version of himself.

He has been great with his 12-year-old Border Collie companion, who has helped teach him appropriate manners. However, he can sometimes be a little too enthusiastic and rambunctious with his 7-year-old Kelpie mate and isn’t always the best at reading other dogs’ boundaries. Because of this, Nugget would suit:
🐾 A confident dog who will set appropriate boundaries
🐾 Or a home where he can be the only dog and soak up all the love and attention (which he would absolutely adore!)

Nugget is:

✅ Affectionate and people-focused
✅ Smart and eager to learn
✅ Good with confident dogs
✅ Curious but not aggressive towards cats
✅ Not overly interested in chickens or goats

He is still a young dog, so his ideal family will be one who enjoys training, enrichment and giving him the mental and physical stimulation that a German Shepherd x Kelpie needs.
