Meet Nugget, a sweet, clever and affectionate young man looking for his forever home. ❤️

Nugget is an absolute sweetheart with his people. He loves following his humans around and curling up on the couch for cuddles. Once he bonds with you, he is incredibly loyal and would love nothing more than to be your devoted companion.

He is a very intelligent boy and a quick learner. He knows his commands well and does particularly well when there aren’t distractions around. He is continuing to work on his focus and listening when there are exciting things happening around him.

Nugget also walks beautifully on lead. He doesn’t pull, aside from the occasional moment when something particularly interesting catches his attention. A quick redirection and a “this way” is generally enough to get him back on track.

Nugget is still a young, energetic working-breed cross and will need an owner who is confident, consistent and willing to continue his training. He needs clear direction, boundaries and plenty of mental and physical enrichment to help him thrive.

🐶 Nugget must be an only dog

While Nugget has previously lived alongside dogs, he has since shown aggression towards other dogs. Because of this, we are looking for a home where Nugget will be the only dog.

This isn’t something we want to minimise or take chances with. Nugget’s future family will need to be committed to responsible management and ensuring he isn’t put in situations where he could interact with unfamiliar dogs.

The upside? Nugget would absolutely LOVE being the centre of attention. He is extremely people-focused and we think he would thrive as someone’s one-and-only, getting all the cuddles, attention, training and adventures to himself. ❤️

Nugget is also:

✅ Crate trained
✅ Very affectionate with his people
✅ Smart and eager to learn
✅ Good on lead
✅ Curious about cats without showing aggression towards them
✅ Not particularly interested in chickens or goats

Nugget is not looking for just any home, he needs someone who understands that he is a young working-breed dog who still has plenty to learn. In return, you’ll have an incredibly loyal, loving and clever companion who will happily follow you around and then curl up beside you on the couch.

Nugget’s ideal home is with someone who wants a dog to be their best mate and is prepared to put the time into his continued training and management.
