About Ember - 14 Month Old Ridgeback X
Meet Ember 🔥
A name that’s chosen to reflect her gentle glow and everlasting spark, despite the fire she walked through to get here.
They say a dog is a mans best friend. Ember is everything you could want in a best friend - she is fiercely loyal, always wanting to be close to her people. She’ll do anything to please, and all she wants in return is a warm cuddle.
Ember truly is the happiest dog you will ever meet - wether you’ve been out all day or simply walked to the mail box and back, she will welcome you inside with a wagging tail fast enough to be considered a weapon and make her excited “moo” noises.
Simply look in her direction and that tail starts moving like a propeller.
Ember is her happiest when she’s with her family, but running free at the beach comes in second place. She has excellent recall and always comes back to check you’re still there watching her. She also sits on command.
Ember is VERY food motivated and will eat just about anything and everything! Ember walks well on the lead but requires ongoing socialisation to get confident on her walks. She adores road trips with her head out the window and the wind in her ears. Ember uses a doggy door and is completely house trained.
Ember doesn’t need much in this world and would make an amazing family dog.
Embers requirements:
⚡️looking for a family who will be patient and treat her as one of their own - this means cuddles on the couch and snuggles under the blankets. Bonus points if you live near the beach!
⚡️ dog and cat friendly - will need introduction
⚡️ not suitable for a home with elderly persons or children UNDER 12 as this happy girl likes to jump when excited
⚡️ Embers adoptive family must be willing to have multiple meet and greets to gain her trust - she can be unsure of new people.
⚡️ minimum 1.6m fencing required
⚡️committed to ongoing gentle socialisation with other people and dogs. She would love a doggy sibling to show her the ropes
She is in foster care in Gorokan, NSW. Her adoption fee is $600, and she is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for fleas, ticks and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
