Zorro is an exceptionally beautiful young Border Collie with a glorious black and white coat that may be the softest thing you have ever touched.
He can be shy when he first meets someone, but give him a little time to decide that you are trustworthy and you will soon have yourself a shadow. Once Zorro bonds, he wants to be close, involved and, above all, to please.
❤️ Personality
Zorro is a gentle, sweet-natured boy with medium energy. He enjoys being part of whatever is going on but is not a dog who needs constant activity or entertainment.
He is also remarkably quiet. His foster carer says she can count on one hand the number of times she has heard him bark since he arrived.
And then there is that coat. Zorro takes his unofficial title of King of Soft and Fluffiness very seriously.

Zorro is a keen learner and very responsive to his people.

He has had some basic obedience training and, with his eagerness to please, should be a very rewarding dog to continue training.
🐶 Dogs, Cats & Children
Zorro is good with other dogs and would be quite happy to share his home with a compatible canine friend, although he does not need another dog in order to be happy.
He is also great with children and has a lovely gentle manner.
He hasn't been directly exposed to cats in his foster home, but he's very cautious around lizards, birds and the neighbour's Chihuahua, that we think he'd adjust to life with felines.
💦 Things Zorro Loves
Zorro loves water and will happily take any opportunity for a splash. More than anything, though, he enjoys being included in everyday family life.

Zorro is not asking for anything complicated.

He is a gentle, adaptable young dog who should fit happily into many different households.
Zorro has completed all of his veterinary work and is ready to begin his new life whenever the right family finds him.

Heartworm Information
We don't know if Zorro had heartworm preventatives before coming into our care. However, heartworm disease is uncommon in the Southern Downs, so ARK does not routinely heartworm test or administer heartworm prevention to our dogs. Should a successful applicant wish to have a heartworm test performed before adoption, we are happy to arrange this.
Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
