Bruce is a gorgeous 1-year-old Jack Russell who is full of love, personality and potential! 🤎

He’s a sweet, affectionate little guy who is still learning that the big wide world isn’t quite as scary as it seems. In the short time he’s been with his foster family, Bruce has already come such a long way — gaining confidence, learning new things and showing just how special he is. 🥰

💕 Very loving and affectionate — his favourite place is curled up beside you on the couch.
🥰 Absolutely loves having his head and face scratched and stroked.
🐾 He’s happiest when he’s close to his people and getting lots of love and attention.
🏡 He would thrive in a quiet home where he can feel safe, settled and included.
🚗 Great in the car and happy to come along for the ride.

🧠 Clever little Bruce

🦴 Very food motivated! Bruce absolutely loves his meals and will happily work for treats.
🎓 He’s a clever boy who is keen to learn, making him very trainable.
🐶 He’s still learning his manners and will need someone who is patient, consistent and understands dog behaviour.
💪 With the right person, we think Bruce has so much potential to become an incredibly well-trained and confident little dog.

🦮 Out and about

🌎 Bruce is still learning how to navigate the big, wide world.
🦘 He’s working on his lead manners and can be quite energetic, zigzagging around as he tries to investigate absolutely everything!
🐕‍🦺 He can be unsure around other dogs. He may initially wag his tail and pull towards them wanting to say hello, but after a few seconds of sniffing he can become anxious and bark or growl.
🤝 Interestingly, Bruce has become best friends with the dog next door and has never had an issue with her. We think he could potentially live with another dog, provided they are introduced slowly, carefully and with plenty of patience.
🌳 He is still building confidence in busy places and can become frantic around large crowds or overwhelming environments, so quieter outings will suit him best for now.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Meeting new people

🥺 Bruce was initially very cautious around people, particularly men.
🌱 As his confidence has grown, he has become much more comfortable and now enjoys saying hello to most people.
🤎 He can still be a little shy and may run back to his foster mums for some reassurance when things feel overwhelming.
👨 If he is rehomed with men, he may need a little extra time and patience to build trust, as he currently seems to feel more comfortable with women.
🥰 Once he knows you’re safe, though, he’s very happy to cuddle up with anyone who gives him some love!

🏠 Finding Bruce's forever home

Bruce is looking for someone who understands that he is still a young dog learning about the world. He doesn’t need to be perfect — he just needs someone willing to give him the time, patience, consistency and reassurance he needs to become the confident little dog we know he can be. ❤️

He can become very anxious when left alone, so his new family will need to be prepared to work on this gradually and patiently. We’re already building up his confidence and helping him understand that his humans will always come back. 🥹

✨ Bruce would love a quiet household where he can be showered with attention, cuddles and love. He needs someone who will enjoy continuing his training, helping him experience the world at his own pace, and celebrating all of his little wins along the way.

🐾 Bruce is truly a very special little guy, and it’s not hard to see why everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He has so much love to give and, with the right person by his side, we think he is going to make an incredibly loyal and loving companion. 🤎
