Meet Sombrero🐾

Sombrero is a very handsome 20kg kelpie mix, he is a very affectionate and
sweet guy that unfortunately found himself at the pound before coming to rescue and wasn't reclaimed. Its hard to say why he wasn't reclaimed as he is such a lovely, sweet, well trained boy.

Sombrero walks amazing on the lead, also seems to know a lot of commands, like sit, shake, down, probably knows more that I haven't discovered. He is also fully toilet trained and knows how to use the doggy door and take himself out when needed. Sombrero is happy in a crate, although he doesn't need to be as he hasn't shown any destructive nature, he is happy to stay at home when I am at work.

Sombrero is currently in a foster home with multiple dogs and he gets along with all the dogs - including a 1kg dog, and also a 40kg large dog, he mainly keeps to himself than actively looking to them for engagement. He doesn't bother them for playtime especially in the house, just happy to sit next to the humans or by himself. In the garden, he will just watch them play seeming to know that he is too big to play with them. He has attempted a few times, but just rolls on his back and gets down to their level. If ignored by the other dog, he just disengages and leaves them alone.

Sombrero is happy with one walk a day and then settles into the living room and have a snooze. Having said that, he is still a kelpie mix so will benefit from more exercise. Sombrero loves car rides and happily sits on the seat in the back no matter how long the journey is.

Sombrero seems like a failed working dog as he stares at the other dogs while they are playing but he just watches, if it is a dog his size, he will bounce around and play with them once he has warmed up - and he only plays outside in the garden, not in the house.

Sombrero is a creature of comforts, he loves tucking into his pyjamas at bedtime and into a nice soft bed and he is out for the night.
