Beautiful Flower came into our care as a stray, having spent far too long looking after herself and learning that the safest person to rely on was… Flower.
Understandably, she’s cautious when it comes to people she doesn’t know. New faces and unfamiliar situations can be daunting, and Flower isn’t going to give her trust away on the first meeting. She needs someone willing to give her the time and space to decide for herself that she is safe.
But once Flower knows you? That’s a completely different story.
Behind that hesitant exterior is a wonderfully affectionate girl who loves her pats and attention. In fact, if your attention happens to wander elsewhere, don’t be surprised to receive a little nudge reminding you that there is a Flower nearby who requires your immediate focus!
And if you’re wondering how to begin winning her over, the answer is simple: treats. Flower loves them, and they’re a wonderful way to start building a friendship and showing her that good things happen when you’re around.
Flower is looking for a quiet, peaceful home without children or dogs, and most importantly, a person who understands that she won’t settle in overnight. She needs patience, kindness and the freedom to take those first steps in her own time.
For Flower, patience really is the key. Give her the time she needs to feel safe, and you’ll have the privilege of watching a cautious little stray blossom into the affectionate, attention-loving girl we know is waiting underneath.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
