JJ Moo was one of the last kittens to be born from the Moo colony that was brought into care at Cat People of Melbourne earlier this year. After everyone believed the colony had finally been cleared, out of nowhere, her mum appeared heavily pregnant and hungry, eventually giving birth to a litter of seven at her first carer's house.

She grew up with all of her litter mates, her mum, a cousin, and multiple other adult cats in the house, along with a doting 7yo who loves playing with the cats. Thanks to rescue and the first carer's environment, JJ has grown into a healthy, confident kitten ready to find her furever family.

This gorgeous Oriental X kitten is a striking calico tuxedo with a beautiful dark tortoiseshell back and a crisp white tummy. JJ is sleek, with a silky coat. Agile at times and totally clutzy at others, and has the most adorable personality.

She's chatty in a softly spoken way. A bit dainty, whilst also enthusiastically playful when she's feeling active, and wonderfully expressive, with a loud purr that starts the moment she's happy. Which is most of the time.

JJ's curiosity has her always wanting to know what's happening and to be where you are, or close by. She's also a treasure hunter, exploring every inch of her territory in the hopes of finding a morsel to eat or a cool toy to carry around for a bit. She's such an entertaining little character who brings plenty of fun and laughter wherever she goes.

She's been such a pleasure to foster after we fostered two of her sisters, Twinkle and Nova, and then we took in her and another sister, MJ. And while we wouldn't call her naughty, she can be quite single-minded at times, particularly about food, but can equally be taught, trained, redirected by gentle repetition and positive re-enforcement.

So far, she's been a pro at letting us handle her when necessary, and we even clipped her claws with very little fuss. We love that! Not that she uses them a lot, but she does still sometimes use them when they're not required. Food is usually involved.

Food, toys, and snuggles are high on JJ's list of favourite things, but her biggest mission in life is making sure no door is ever closed! She dislikes being shut away from the action and will happily let you know with enthusiastic meows and determined scratching until that door is open again, irrespective of which side either of you are on.

While she prefers not to be picked up unless it's on her terms, and can startle easily in unfamiliar environments or when strangers come inside, she quickly settles once she feels safe or realises maybe she overreacted... LOL

And, once she's warmed to you, she'll climb on you, play with you (the fishing rod toy with wormies is her fave), cuddle in your lap for chats, making biscuits when petted sweetly, and snuggle right up against you through the night, waiting for you to awaken so she can sit on you and tell you it's time to get up so you can feed her.

JJ would suit a home where she has plenty of companionship, enrichment and opportunities to explore safely. She is wary of hands at first, but if you look out for the tells of when she's happy or eager to be petted, vs when she just wants to sit by you, and you respect her boundaries, this will build trust and she'll warm to you more and more every day.

She gets along well with other cats and enjoyed spending time with her other sister, MJ, who we had with her, but MJ just got adopted and now she needs her own new home.

She would suit a family with respectful children over five years of age, and may suit the right dog with slow introductions. And, you will need to have a cat in the house already, or be adopting another kitten at the same time that matches her personality. The adoptions team can help with cat matching to find the perfect buddy for her.

With her affectionate nature, playful antics, super-smooshable cuddles, and infectious purr, JJ is guaranteed to bring joy and entertainment to her furever family.

To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
