About Millie
๐พ๐ค Meet Millie ๐ค๐พ
4 years and 6 months of Jack Russell Terrier determination, endless love, tiny legs, giant personality... and one very important mission in life...
"If it squeaks, scurries, hops or flies... I'm going to find it!" ๐
If you've ever shared your life with a Jack Russell, you'll already know...
They don't just live life...
They attack it with enthusiasm.
Millie is everything people love about the breed.
She's clever.
Funny.
Affectionate.
Curious.
And somehow manages to fit the personality of a Great Dane into a tiny 5kg body.
Millie came into care through a private surrender through absolutely no fault of her own and is now searching for a family who'll appreciate all of the wonderfully quirky things that make her... well... Millie.
โค๏ธ Pocket Rocket... Full-Sized Heart
By day, Millie is a busy little explorer.
By night, she's an absolute angel.
Every evening she'll happily tuck herself into her crate with her beloved blanket and one very special little friend...
A toy kangaroo called Rooroo.
Now... before you laugh...
Rooroo isn't just a toy.
Rooroo is family.
Rooroo goes to bed with Milly.
Rooroo gets carried proudly around the house.
And if Rooroo mysteriously disappears...
The entire household is immediately recruited into a full-scale search party.
No one rests until Rooroo has been safely recovered.
Thankfully, these dramatic events usually end with Millie proudly carrying Rooroo back to bed as though nothing ever happened.
๐ช๏ธ Mornings... Are an Event
If you enjoy sleeping in...
Millie would like a quick word.
Every morning begins the same way.
Out of the crate.
Quick toilet break.
Then...
Operation Wake The Humans.
She'll happily climb under the doona.
Shuffle right beside your face.
And has perfected the art of waking you up with enthusiastic kisses directly in your ear...
Or your mouth...
Whichever gets results fastest.
It's impossible not to laugh.
Resistance is futile.
๐ฟ Tiny Dog... Professional Wildlife Officer
Millie firmly believes it's her responsibility to inspect absolutely everything happening in the backyard.
Birds.
Possums.
Lizards.
Leaves.
Suspicious bushes.
If something moves...
Millie is on the case.
She absolutely loves rummaging through shrubs, investigating every crack, every garden bed and every interesting smell.
Which brings us to one very important thing her future family must understand...
๐ง Secure fencing is absolutely essential.
Millie isn't trying to run away from her family... she's simply following the adventure! She's been known to dig and squeeze under fencing in pursuit of tiny creatures and once found herself in the neighbour's yard.
The adventure very quickly became far less exciting, and she stood there making enough noise for everyone to know she'd made a terrible decision.
Her foster mum's advice?
Even if you think your fencing is secure... go and check it again. Then maybe pop down to the hardware store for a few extra reinforcements!
We also think an Apple AirTag (or similar GPS tracking device) attached securely to Millie's collar would be a fantastic extra layer of safety. While it should never replace secure fencing or supervision, it provides wonderful peace of mind should this clever little explorer ever manage to sneak out on an unexpected adventure.
๐ถ Every Walk Is A Safari
Walks with Millie aren't just walks.
They're expeditions.
Every bush must be inspected.
Every tree investigated.
Every crack in the footpath deserves attention.
She walks with purpose.
Yes, she pulls a little...
But at only 5kg she's easy enough to manage, and she's far more interested in discovering what's hiding under the next hedge than worrying about perfect lead manners.
โค๏ธ Her People Are Everything
For all her independent adventures in the garden...
Millie absolutely adores her humans.
She loves with her whole heart.
She greets you by launching herself straight into your arms like she's been practising for the Olympics.
Then follows it up with enthusiastic full-body kisses.
She's happiest curled up beside you on the couch, perched on your lap or simply sleeping nearby.
She even has a slight preference for the grown-up man of the house...
Despite him insisting he doesn't spoil her at all.
We're not convinced.
๐ถ Other Friends
Millie is lovely with children and has happily spent time with children aged five years and older.
She's also happy living alongside another small dog, although she doesn't rely on one for company.
She's perfectly content entertaining herself in the backyard between cuddle sessions.
Cats...
Birds...
Guinea pigs...
Anything small that moves...
Unfortunately, these are best admired from a distance.
Millie's hunting instincts are very strong, so she won't suit a home with small animals or free-roaming cats.
๐ Little Traveller
Millie enjoys coming along for adventures but does need to travel safely restrained, as she's quite convinced she'd like to help navigate from absolutely anywhere in the car.
Longer trips can occasionally make her feel a little travel sick, although sitting where she can look out the window certainly helps.
๐ Millie's Perfect Home
Millie is looking for a family who understand and love everything that makes Jack Russell's such incredible little dogs.
A family who'll enjoy daily walks.
Laugh at her funny antics.
Accept that Rooroo is a permanent member of the household.
Provide very secure fencing to keep this little explorer safe.
And most importantly...
Love her as fiercely as she'll love them.
Because underneath all that determination, curiosity and Jack Russell spirit...
Is one incredibly loyal little girl with a heart absolutely bursting with love.
๐ค If you're looking for a clever, affectionate little sidekick who'll make you laugh every single day, keep your garden free of tiny creatures and greet you like you've been gone for a yearโeven if it's only been five minutes โ Millie might just be your perfect match.
๐พ Professional wildlife inspector.
๐ฆ Devoted mum to Rooroo.
๐ Championship sunbaker.
๐ Olympic-level face kisser.
โค๏ธ Tiny dog... enormous personality.

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
