About Whiskey - 6 Year Old Border Collie
Wanted: A full-time Ball Thrower. Salary: Unlimited love, loyalty and devotion. If you've ever wondered whether a dog can survive on oxygen and tennis balls alone... allow us to introduce Whiskey.
At 6½ years old, this striking tri-colour Border Collie takes his job as Chief Ball Enthusiast very seriously. Throw it once? Great. Throw it a hundred times? Better. Stop throwing it? He'll patiently remind you that your arm still has a little life left in it.
Despite all that energy, Whiskey isn't the noisy, frantic type. In fact, he's surprisingly quiet. He rarely barks... unless he's proudly holding a ball and politely informing you that it's your turn to participate.
When the adventure is over, Whiskey transforms into the sweetest shadow. He'll quietly sit on your foot, lean into your leg and soak up every pat you're willing to give. It's his way of saying, "You're my person."
Sleep in your bed? Sure! Sleep on the couch? Okie dokie! Sleep on the floor next to your bed? Fine by me!
Car ride? Don't even finish the sentence. He's already waiting at the door.
🍽Dinner time? Whiskey is the definition of a gentleman. He'll sit patiently, wait for permission and takes food and treats with the softest mouth you've ever seen.
And then there's the fluff... Let's just say his rear end deserves its own postcode. His magnificent fluffy pants are impressive enough to stop people in the street.
Whiskey has absolutely mastered the art of being a good housemate. Need to duck out for an hour? No worries. Working all day? He'll happily hold down the fort for seven hours without lodging a complaint.
Unlike some dogs, Whiskey has no aspirations of becoming an interior designer or landscape architect. Your couch stays intact. Your garden stays where you planted it. And if you accidentally leave your brand-new sneakers by the front door... they'll still be there when you get home. Untouched.
He's completely toilet trained, respectful around the home and genuinely understands that houses are for living in - not renovating.
Now, in the interest of full disclosure... Whiskey has one non-negotiable boundary. He absolutely, unequivocally, passionately HATES being groomed. Don't try to be a hero. Leave that job to an experienced professional and everyone will be much happier.
Whiskey is looking for someone who appreciates everything that makes Border Collies so special - intelligence, loyalty, companionship and a love of having a purpose. Whether that's endless games of fetch, road trips or simply being by your side, Whiskey is happiest when he's doing life with his person.
If your idea of the perfect mate has four legs, a giant fluffy butt and arrives with a tennis ball permanently attached to his face...Whiskey has been waiting for you.
His adoption fee is $500. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas, ticks and worms. He is in foster care in Maitland, NSW.
