About Kenai
Meet Kenai, a loyal bestie and goody sidekick.
Kenai is an eight-year-old sweetheart looking for more than a home; he’s looking for his person. Loyal, loving and happiest by your side, he wants to be someone’s closest friend and devoted companion. He’s a relaxed boy you could take to work, share everyday adventures with, and come home to at the end of the day.
Kenai is a calm, gentle and fully house-trained indoor companion. He loves snoozing in a sunny spot, cuddling on the couch and curling up as the perfect little spoon. Though relaxed around the house, he still has a playful side: he enjoys tug-of-war, gets daily zoomies and can be delightfully silly when the mood strikes!
Walks may be Kenai’s favourite activity. He’ll need at least one good walk or a couple of shorter walks each day, plus playtime when he gets in the mood.
This respectful boy is beautifully behaved at home. He waits patiently for his food, sleeps well in his own bed and knows “sit,” “down,” “shake,” and “no.” He never jumps up, even when excited, understands which toys are his and leaves people’s belongings and food alone.
Kenai loves people and is affectionate with everyone he meets. He’s gentle, cuddly and deeply loyal but also has an independent streak. He appears comfortable being left alone and shows no signs of separation anxiety, though he’ll always be happy to welcome you home.
Kenai is friendly with other dogs and has never shown aggression towards them. In fact, he sometimes likes them a little too much! He can bark when overexcited or overstimulated, and his recall is still a work in progress when other dogs or interesting smells are nearby. He’ll need to stay on lead in unsecured areas while his new family continues his training.
Because of his size and occasional enthusiam, Kenai would do best in an adult home without small children.
Kenai’s ideal home:
Kenai is searching for someone whose life goal is to share adventures with a chilled-out, effortlessly cool dog. He doesn’t ask for much: just daily walks, a little play, plenty of cuddles and the chance to be included in the life of the person he loves.
He needs an indoor home where he’ll be treated as a true family member: a loyal sidekick who can join you at work when possible, come along on adventures, curl up beside you at the end of the day and become the steady heartbeat of your family forever.
In return, Kenai will give you his whole heart: unwavering loyalty, excellent manners, sunny naps, occasional silliness, first-class spooning skills and the kind of friendship that makes him feel less like a pet and more like your very best mate.
