About Rusty - 1.5 Year Old Kelpie
🐾 Meet Rusty 🐾
At just 1.5 years old, this handsome Kelpie boy is looking for an active home that understands the unique needs of working breeds. He’s an intelligent, loyal companion with plenty of love to give and will thrive with people who can provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation.
🎾 His absolute favourite thing in the world? Balls! If there’s a tennis ball around, you’ll have his full attention. He’s fetch-obsessed and would happily spend hours chasing, retrieving, and playing with his favourite toys.
Despite his energetic side, he’s also a sweetheart who enjoys curling up on the lounge for cuddles after a fun-filled day. He walks beautifully on lead and is a pleasure to take out and about.
Rusty is happiest when he has his people all to himself. He loves being the centre of attention and forms a strong bond with his family, so he’ll thrive as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the love, affection, and one-on-one time he deserves.
As a typical young Kelpie, he can be a little mouthy when excited, so he’s best suited to a home with children aged 10 years and over who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs.
He’s content spending time on his own when needed and settles well, making him a great companion for people who work during the day.
His ideal home will have:
🐾 Someone with experience or a good understanding of working breeds.
🏡 Secure fencing of at least 1.5 metres.
👧 Children aged 10 years and over.
🐶 Be an only dog home.
🚫 No pocket pets.

His adoption fee is $600. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas, ticks and worms. He is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
