Hi, I’m Alaric, a gentle and intelligent GSD with a rather cheeky personality guaranteed to keep you smiling all day. Have you seen my pictures? I’m pretty stunning, if I do say so myself. I think I could give those police dogs a run for their money.

I’m a loyal companion who loves winding down the day snuggled up for cuddles. I adore children and think I’m best suited for older kids. I’m not entirely sure about toddlers, but with supervision, I’m confident we’d get along just fine. I just need to be mindful and gentle, so I don’t accidentally knock them over.

I am a bit of a foodie, preferring a 50/50 mix of raw and GSD dog food over standard boring wet food. Everyday treats don’t do much for my training but give me high-value rewards during sessions and you’ll see me at my best.

I’ve mastered all the basic commands such as sit, down, come, here and can’t wait to keep learning more as my confidence builds. I can also perform numerous fun tricks, such as roll over, spin (both ways mind you), weave, and even more really clever commands like touch and guard, walk between your legs at lots more. I love learning, and nothing compares to the amazing bond I share with my owner.

I love games like playing with a flirt pole, engaging in training sessions, and enjoying high-drive bite toys, that’s the GSD in me. I’m not really a ball-driven kind of dog. I’ll fetch the ball if you ask, but it’s not really my thing, sorry.

I’m house-trained and fully toilet-trained—just remember to take me out when I need to go if there’s no doggy door. I’m also crate- and place-trained, told you I am pretty clever.

I thrive on routine and security. I enjoy spending time both outdoors and indoors, but at night, I’m definitely an inside sleeper. Curling up beside your bed brings me comfort and helps ease my mild separation anxiety. Being left outside alone for too long can give me a little separation anxiety so I do need to be able to indoors with you as well.

I tend to be protective of our yard, which is great because I won’t let anyone break in or take our things when I’m around. It’s just part of my nature, and I’m glad to take on the role of family guardian.

I’m definitely not a fan of cars and sometimes get car sick. I really need gentle encouragement to get into a vehicle, but hopefully, that will get better over time.

While my social skills with other dogs are still uncertain since I haven’t had much interaction with unfamiliar ones, gradual and controlled introductions could help ensure things go smoothly. Who knows, I might end up loving the company of some doggy pals. Time will tell.
