Meet Koko, a gorgeous 8-year-old Border Collie / Labrador cross who is looking for her forever home. Everyone who meets Koko describes her as a sweet girl! She has a lot of love to give and needs a lot of love in return. Koko will thrive with a family or person who can include her in their daily lives and give her lots of attention.

Koko is an intelligent, curious and playful dog who needs regular activity including walks with lots of opportunities for sniffing. Koko also enjoys other activities with her people such as visiting the local cafe and playing at home with her toys. Using slow feeders and kongs during mealtimes will add mental stimulation as well as slowing down how quickly she eats (her lab side comes out in her love of food!) Hearing Koko happily munching on a carrot is a particular delight! During her time with her foster family, Koko has been regularly visiting a dog park and has become popular there with both pups and humans.

Koko is excited to meet other dogs and due to this can become over-excited when walking on lead. She can also become concerned about fast moving scooters and bikes when on walks. During her time in foster care, she has responded well to positive training to help address these responses. To help her continue learning to walk on lead calmly, our trainer is offering her new family or person a discount on initial training sessions. This presents a fantastic opportunity to build a strong bond with Koko, built on mutual trust and understanding.

Koko has been sharing her foster home with two smaller dogs which indicates she can adapt to living with other doggy friends, with the right introduction. However, she would be more than happy to have all your love to herself.

Koko is truly a sweet and special girl who deserves a home in which she is treated as a main character. Ideally her new family will be calm and confident dog owners who understand the care required. In turn, they will be rewarded with a forever friend who is loyal, loving and lots of fun.
