About Maggie
🐾 Meet Maggie 🐾
Maggie is a delightful little dog with a big personality and an even bigger love of her people. Affectionate, entertaining and full of character, she's happiest when she's included in whatever her family is doing and loves being part of everyday life.
Playtime is one of Maggie's favourite things. She adores her toys, loves a game of fetch and has a hilarious habit of walking on her back legs when she's excited. She enjoys a daily walk along with plenty of play at home, which helps keep both her mind and body active.
Maggie is toilet trained and responds well to her "hurry up" cue. She enjoys meeting people and is friendly with strangers once they've arrived, although she's an excellent little watchdog and won't hesitate to announce visitors at the front door. She also gets along well with other dogs, enjoying off-lead runs at the dog park, though she may be wary when first meeting an unfamiliar dog.
Maggie spends time with her owner's eight-year-old granddaughter and has always been good with her. She's also met younger children while out on walks without any concerns. She has not been tested with cats.
Maggie's biggest challenge is that she forms very strong attachments to her people. She has spent most of her life with someone at home, and she struggles significantly when left alone. When distressed she can bark, chew and destroy household items, and will sometimes deliberately toilet indoors despite being otherwise toilet trained. Because of this, Maggie is not suited to a home where she'll be expected to cope with regular periods on her own. Her new family will need to understand that overcoming this behaviour is likely to require considerable time, patience and commitment.
Maggie will be best suited to a home where she can enjoy plenty of companionship and continue building her confidence. For the right person, she'll be an incredibly loving, funny and devoted little companion who brings plenty of joy and laughter every day.
