About Bowser
Hello there! I'm Bowser, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BOWSER
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/aobAS5jCf8qdabFz6
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Bowser if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
General:
• I'll need daily exercise - walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• When I get excited, I can be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training - it's essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Dog Compatibility:
• I absolutely love other dogs! I'm energetic and playful, so I'd thrive with a dog who matches my enthusiasm.
• I would love to go to a home with another dog for company as this is what I am use to, or a family that will include me in daily activities so I don't feel left out, sometimes I howl when im lonely.
Cat / small animal:
• I have a high prey drive, so I'm not suited to homes with cats or small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, or ducks.
Perks:
• I'm a very playful, happy boy with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I'm gentle and placid in nature, and I've had some basic obedience training - I'm generally a well-mannered dog. I know my basic commands like sit and shake.
• I'm very social and happy to hang out with other friendly dogs - total social butterfly!
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball! Fetch and tug-of-war are some of my favourite games.
• I'm exuberant and full of beans, always ready for fun and adventure.
• I'm clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who'll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training:
• Once I'm settled, I can walk nicely, but I may pull if something grabs my attention or if I decide I'd like to head in a different direction. so a harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training.
• I may show some mild resource guarding around food. I will trade happily for something higher in value, and with patience, consistency, and positive training, this is something we can continue to work through together but I MUST be fed separate to other dogs and children.
