About Moana & Maui
Moana & Maui – The beautiful 9-year-old bonded pair looking for a loving forever home together
Meet Moana and Maui, two of the most gentle, affectionate, and people-adoring cats you could ever hope to meet. These gorgeous fluffy siblings are beautiful both inside and out, with soft, lush coats and even softer hearts. They are incredibly loving, deeply social, and thrive on human companionship. Wherever you are, they want to be close.
They have been cherished members of their family for ten years (since they were tiny kittens) and are only being rehomed for the kindest of reasons: they have been found to aggravate their young family’s eczema and allergies. Their humans love them dearly and are heartbroken to say goodbye, but they are determined to find Moana and Maui a peaceful, comfortable home where these two senior sweethearts can live out their golden years surrounded by love and gentle attention.
Moana
Moana is the braver, more outgoing of the pair and an absolute chatterbox. She meows often and loves to “talk” to her people. She is a dedicated lap-cat who will happily claim any available lap for a long, contented sleep. She greets visitors with confidence, welcomes pats from children, and thrives on affection.
A few years ago Moana had all her teeth removed due to an immune-related gum condition. She recovered beautifully and has lived a happy, comfortable life ever since, she simply prefers her kibble slightly softened with a little water.
Maui
Maui is a big, soft, gentle boy (over 8 kg) who is believed to be part Maine Coon. His coat is thick, lush and absolutely beautiful. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once he feels safe he transforms into the most devoted cuddle-bug, delivering the strongest, most enthusiastic headbutts known to cat-kind.
He, too, is a dedicated lap-sitter. In fact Moana and Maui have been known to politely (and not-so-politely) compete for the best spot on a warm lap.
Maui has a small, stable benign lump under his chin that has remained unchanged for years. He has no other health concerns.
Shared needs & personalities
Both cats are on a Royal Canin Urinary diet (kibble and/or wet food), which keeps them comfortable and prevents urinary issues. Their thick fluffy coats also benefit from the occasional Royal Canin Hairball formula. Maui’s dense coat can form small clumps in warmer weather and may need gentle clipping now and then (he is not a fan of brushing).
These two are the definition of gentle, loving companions. They adore people, seek out affection, and bring a calm, comforting presence to a home. They would be a true blessing to almost any household that can offer them patience, quiet love, and the chance to stay together.
They have both been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and are currently located with their amazing foster mum in Eltham.
If you are looking for two senior cats who will fill your home with soft purrs, warm laps, sweet headbutts and constant, gentle companionship, Moana and Maui are waiting. They deserve nothing less than a peaceful, loving forever home where they can continue to be cherished exactly as they are.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
