Grommit is a 7-year-old Border Collie with a heart full of love and a gentle, devoted nature. While he may be considered a little older, don’t let that fool you—this clever boy still has plenty of spark and is always eager to learn new tricks and be involved in whatever his humans are doing.
Grommit is a loyal and affectionate companion who truly thrives on being close to his people. He would love a home where he can be included in day-to-day life—whether that’s relaxing at home, heading out for walks, or jumping in the car for an adventure.
He enjoys walks of all speeds and would suit an active household that can keep both his mind and body engaged. Grommit walks well on the lead and travels calmly in the car, making him an easy companion to take along wherever you go.
Grommit would do best in a home with a secure yard and owners who are home more often than not—such as those who work from home, are retired, or have a flexible lifestyle. He bonds closely with his people and will be happiest where he isn’t left alone for long periods.
He has shown he can get along with other dogs, particularly those who are calm, non-dominant, and of similar or smaller size. Slow introductions would be important to ensure the right match.
Grommit has also had positive interactions with a young child and may be suitable for a home with respectful children who understand how to interact gently with dogs.
Weighing 22.5kg, Grommit has recently been desexed and is currently recovering well.

His adoption fee is $500. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas, ticks and worms. He is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
