Vanilla Cream is one of those dogs who doesn’t give her heart away immediately but once she starts to trust you, every little milestone feels incredibly special.

When she first arrived in foster care, she was extremely timid and unsure of people and the world around her. While she’s still a shy girl it’s been beautiful watching her slowly learn that she’s safe.

She has become part of the pack and is beginning to enjoy the little things she once avoided. Every morning she greets me with gentle kisses and her adorable little happy rumble and she’s even worked her way from sleeping outside by choice to curling up in bed with the rest of the dogs.

Vanilla Cream absolutely loves affection on her terms. You’ll often find her quietly sneaking over for cuddles when you’re relaxing on the couch or lying in bed. Once she feels comfortable she wants nothing more than to be close to her person.

She has shown only lovely behaviours and been happy to share her space. She’s simply a dog who has lost confidence somewhere along the way and is still learning that people can be kind. We don’t know what her past looked like but she deserves a future filled with patience, consistency and love.

Like any young dog, she isn’t perfect. She has a cheeky habit of quietly stealing things and taking them into the backyard, sometimes they’re untouched, sometimes they’ve become her latest project! She’ll need some continued training and supervision while she learns what belongs to her.

We believe Vanilla Cream would thrive in a home with:
