Meet our beautiful girl, Monique. ❤️

Monique is a stunning Golden Retriever with a deep golden, glossy coat and weighs just under 28kg.

Before coming into our care, Monique was used as a breeding dog rather than being loved as a family pet. Because of this, she can be cautious around new people and unfamiliar environments. She needs a little time, patience, and understanding to learn that she is finally safe. Once she feels secure, her beautiful personality begins to shine.

Monique is a calm, placid, and gentle soul who enjoys the quieter things in life. She loves relaxing on a big fluffy dog bed or curled up on the couch beside her favourite humans. On warm sunny days, you’ll often find her happily sunbaking in the backyard, soaking up the sunshine.

While she gets along with other gentle dogs, she can feel overwhelmed by very active or boisterous dogs. She would thrive in a peaceful home where she can simply relax and enjoy being part of the family.

Monique has so much love to give. Although she can be shy at first, she is learning what it means to be a cherished companion—something she sadly never experienced before. As her confidence grows, you’ll see a sweet, affectionate girl who quietly comes over, gazes up with her soulful eyes, and patiently waits for cuddles, affection, and gentle pats.

Food is definitely one of Monique’s favourite things! She has a healthy appetite and isn’t a fussy eater. She currently enjoys a high-quality diet consisting of Royal Canin kibble, raw chicken necks, nutritious home-cooked meals, and large recreational bones to chew.

Monique is beautiful both inside and out. She deserves a family who will give her the life she has always deserved—a life filled with love, kindness, patience, and endless cuddles.

She would make a wonderful companion for many families, including those with respectful children who understand the importance of giving her space while she continues to build her confidence.

We are looking for a home where Monique will be treated as a true member of the family. She is not a dog to be left outside or simply kept in the backyard. She deserves to spend her days indoors with her people, with access to a secure backyard via a doggy door whenever she wishes to enjoy some fresh air or bask in the sunshine.

As with all Golden Retrievers, Monique will require regular brushing to keep her beautiful coat in good condition, along with professional grooming every 5–6 weeks to help manage shedding and maintain her coat.

7. How many hours will Monique be left alone each day, and who will assume the responsibility for her during your absences or holiday periods?

8. Are you in a position to provide Monique quality veterinary care and nutritious food?

9. Will Monique be considered as a family member, living indoor with outdoor access as she pleases? Please describe her future sleeping arrangements.
