About Rooster
Don't let the name fool you, our Rooster is more of a gentle soul than the life of the party.
This handsome 4-year-old Boxer cross is a certified introvert. Meeting new people? Bit awkward. Other dogs? He'd rather pretend they don't exist. Big, exciting adventures? Maybe... after a nap and several business days to think about it.
Behind those worried eyes is one of the sweetest boys you'll ever meet. Rooster just needs a little time to decide you're one of the good ones. Once you earn his trust, you'll discover a loyal best mate who'll happily follow you around, lean in for cuddles, and remind you every day why the shy ones are so worth the wait.
Rooster is looking for a home with dog-savvy teenagers or adults who understand that confidence isn't something you can rush. His future family will need to continue his force-free training and help him build positive experiences with handling, people, and seeing other dogs from a distance. Every little success is a big deal to Rooster, and he'll need people who are just as excited about those wins as he is.
When it comes to other dogs, Rooster has officially retired from making new canine friends. He's happiest flying solo, where he doesn't have to worry about awkward dog introductions or unwanted social obligations. Think of him as the friend who says, "I'm probably not coming," to every group chat invitation-and is much happier for it.
Rooster isn't looking for the busiest house or the most adventurous family. He's looking for someone who'll see past his shy exterior and recognize the beautiful dog underneath. Someone who'll laugh at his quirky little ways, celebrate his growing confidence, and remind him that the world can actually be a pretty wonderful place.
If you've ever believed that the quiet ones have the biggest hearts, Rooster is ready to prove you right.
