Meet Brandy 🐾

Brandy is a loving, loyal girl who forms a strong bond with her people. She adores being part of the family and is happiest wherever her humans are, happily following them from room to room like the devoted shadow she is. She has plenty of personality too, with adorable sighs, groans and funny little noises that are guaranteed to make you smile.

She enjoys an active lifestyle and loves games of fetch and tug, but her absolute favourite place is the beach. Chasing her ball is her greatest joy, and once she's focused on the game, the rest of the world disappears. Although she loves the water, she's not much of a swimmer, preferring to splash around rather than venture too deep.

Brandy would thrive with an active family who can include her in daily life, with plenty of exercise, play and mental stimulation. She's been an indoor companion throughout her life and enjoys spending time with her people. She has previously been left home during the workday with another dog without any issues, although she is currently living as the only pet in her foster home.

She is toilet trained, travels well in the car, sleeps happily in her open crate at night, and has lovely manners around the home. She's affectionate, playful and eager to be involved in whatever you're doing.

Brandy has lived with another dog previously, but her current foster home has no other animals. During a recent vet visit, she was very interested in the other dogs in the waiting room and wanted to approach them, but also gave a few warning growls. As we haven't had the opportunity to assess her properly with another dog, we wouldn't assume she's automatically dog-friendly. Any future introduction to another dog would need to be carefully managed and based on the individual dogs involved. On lead, she can become very excited when she sees other dogs, so she'll need an owner who is prepared to continue working on her lead manners. She can also become possessive of her ball during play, so this is something her new family will need to manage.

Like many clever Staffies, Brandy enjoys a good chew, so having appropriate toys on hand will help keep her entertained. She can also be a bit impulsive when she's excited and may jump up to greet people, so she would benefit from continued training to help her channel that enthusiasm.

Brandy is looking for a home with a secure yard, as she has shown she can jump lower fences and has previously escaped when bored. A home where she receives plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment and companionship will help set her up for success.

Brandy can be nervous at the vet, but did very well at her recent appointment with some pre-visit medication.
