Two-year-old Nikolai is an Exotic Shorthair who has survived more than any cat should.

He was one of five cats found abandoned inside a Western Sydney apartment without food, water or any way to escape for an estimated two weeks. Severely underweight and painfully matted, Nikolai needed part of his beautiful coat shaved so his skin could begin to heal.

But that was only the beginning of his recovery.

With proper food, veterinary care, warmth and kindness, Nikolai has slowly learned that he is safe—and that he will never be abandoned again. Now, this handsome little gentleman is ready for the final chapter of his transformation: a loving home of his own.

As an Exotic Shorthair, Nikolai will need an indoor-only home committed to his ongoing grooming and breed-specific care. After everything he has endured, we are looking for someone who will offer him patience, stability and the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

Nikolai was once treated as though he were disposable. We’re determined to show him that he is anything but.
