Meet Nigel 🐾

Nigel is a lovely, affectionate boy who absolutely loves being close to his people. A true velcro dog, he’ll happily follow you from room to room before settling beside you—or better yet, on your lap if there’s space! He’s happiest indoors with his family and is very much an inside dog.

Nigel has a calm, easy-going nature around the home and simply enjoys being included in everyday life. Whether you're relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or heading out for a walk, he just wants to be by your side. He enjoys his daily walks, although he’s still learning not to pull on the lead, so he’ll benefit from a family happy to continue his training.

Nigel would be best suited to a home without young children, as they’re not something he’s comfortable around. He hasn’t been assessed with cats, so we’re unable to say how he would go living with feline friends.

One of Nigel’s funny little quirks is that he’s not a fan of having his feet touched—he’d much rather you stick to pats, cuddles, and scratches in all his favourite places!

I CAN FLY TO PERTH!

Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to Perth.

4 THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING:

1. Time Commitment: Owning a dog is a big responsibility and requires a significant commitment of time and energy. Be sure to consider how much time you can realistically dedicate to caring for a dog and make sure you are prepared to make that commitment.

2. Cost: Owning a dog can be expensive. Make sure to consider the cost of food, medical care, toys, and other supplies. You may also want to think about enrolling your dog in obedience classes or hiring a professional dog walker.

3. Space: Depending on the breed, some dogs require a lot of space. Make sure you have enough room in your home and yard to accommodate a dog before making the decision to adopt.

4. Lifestyle: Think about your current lifestyle and how a dog may fit into it. Consider if you have any restrictions such as travel, work hours, or allergies. Also, think about how owning a dog may affect your social life.

Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination*, flea and worm treatment, microchipping and sterilisation at a SAFE approved vet at 6 months of age.

*Puppies may require further vaccination(s) to complete the full vaccination course. This will be at the cost of the new owner and is not included in the adoption fee.
