Meet Meadow!

Looking for a best friend to grow alongside you? Meet Meadow, a beautiful 1 year, 2 month old Golden Retriever with a gentle heart, a sweet nature, and so much love to give.

Meadow is a sensitive girl who takes a little time to feel comfortable, but once you earn her trust, you'll discover just how lovely she is. She absolutely adores treats (they're definitely the quickest way to her heart!) and she's ready to learn that the world is full of good things.

The busy shelter environment has been a little overwhelming for Meadow, so she's looking forward to settling into a calm home where she can relax and build a strong bond with her new family. With patience, kindness and plenty of positive experiences, her confidence is sure to continue growing.

Meadow would love to share her new home with a friendly, prosocial dog of a similar size who can help show her the ropes. She's also suited to a home with secondary school aged children who can understand that she sometimes needs a little extra space and time while she settles in.

As she's still building confidence, Meadow will benefit from gradual, positive introductions to new people, environments and other dogs. She can be particularly unsure around unfamiliar men, so it's important that introductions happen slowly and at her pace. Her ideal family will be happy to take things one step at a time, celebrate her progress, and learn to read her body language so she always feels safe and understood.

Meadow's adopters should be committed to continuing her socialisation in a thoughtful, positive way. Gentle, force free training and confidence building adventures will help her blossom into the wonderful companion she's destined to be. If you'd like a little extra support along the way, the team can provide a list of LDH-recommended force-free trainers to help you and Meadow get off to the best possible start.
