Benny is a playful, lovable goofball and the best cuddler. He’s full of energy during the day, with a particular talent for turning his teething phase into a personal mission to discover whether everything is edible. 😂 Outside, he’s currently embracing his role as a professional little menace — exploring, chewing and generally keeping his humans entertained.

His training is coming along beautifully. Benny can now sit and wait, and his lead skills are improving, although they’re still a work in progress. He’s toilet trained, with the occasional overnight accident if his humans sleep through his attempts to wake them.

Benny is fantastic with cats, kittens and dogs of all sizes and has become even better at respecting their boundaries. He remains a classic Velcro/FOMO dog who would really prefer to be wherever everyone else is.

But Benny’s most beautiful quality has emerged while his foster mum has been unwell. He has made it very clear that wherever she goes, he goes. If she moves to the couch overnight because she’s uncomfortable, Benny follows for cuddles. If she wakes during the night, he’s immediately there for a snuggle. He seems to have a wonderful sense of empathy and simply wants to be beside the person he loves.

And when it comes to bedtime, Benny still has absolutely no interest in a crate. His response is essentially “No thank you, I’ll take the bed” — preferably one already occupied by the other cats and dogs. 😂

Benny is a high-energy goofball by day and a compassionate cuddle bug by night, with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. ❤️
