About Cuddles
Meet Cuddles, an adorable 7-year-old Chihuahua x Pomeranian mix who perfectly lives up to his charming name. This little gentleman has a heart as big as his personality, delighting in the simple joys of life spent close to his beloved humans. Cuddles is the quintessential lap dog, and nothing makes him happier than cuddling up on the sofa for some quality snuggle time. With his fluffy coat and soulful eyes, Cuddles is simply irresistible.
Cuddles enjoys a low-key lifestyle and prefers the comforts of home to the hustle and bustle of the outside world. While he appreciates a leisurely stroll now and then, he doesn’t crave the hectic schedule of numerous park adventures or bustling cafe outings. His perfect day consists of short walks, a session of blissful brushing, basking in sunny spots, and finally retiring back to his favourite spot on the couch. Cuddles relishes these little pleasures and cherishes every relaxing moment closely shared with his people.
He has a gentle heart and appreciates serene companionship, particularly with other female dogs of a similar size who enjoy sharing the calm ambiance of a sunny nap. Cuddles would prefer a household where he can partake in his humans' everyday lives while enjoying the company of a fellow gentle canine friend.
Cuddles' journey has shown him to be a resilient and extraordinary companion. Initially a bit anxious, he's blossomed with the right support, displaying impeccable manners and toilet training. Comfortably independent when necessary, Cuddles is more than happy to spend some alone time indoors, but he truly shines in a calm environment, surrounded by adults who appreciate his easygoing nature and snuggles.
If you're seeking a devoted and affectionate companion who will lovingly dedicate himself to being your personal cuddle buddy, Cuddles is ready to fill your home with warmth and joy. This sweet little man will undoubtedly be a cherished member of any loving household.
Medical notes
7 year old Cuddles is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
He’s had a full check up including bloods and is a healthy boy.
When Cuddles first came into care, he displayed significant general anxiety including separation anxiety which caused him to readily go over threshold and vocalise loudly when I left the house even for short periods.
He has responded amazingly well to medication and is doing so well now that he only needs 1/4 tablet of Lovan (Fluoxetine) once a day. He also has pregabalin for situational use but this is rarely needed now that he is happy and settled.
Cuddles should continue with his current medication and any changes should only be considered with the input of a specialist behaviour vet (currently Cuddles is looked after by Dr Emma Colbran). His meds cost around $5 per month.
He does have some patella luxation but it doesn’t bother him at home. We also took into consideration that a big surgery and prolonged recovery may cause a setback with his anxieties.
We recommend, as with all small breeds, regular vet checks to monitor dental health and overall wellbeing.
Adoption details
Chihuahua Rescue QLD Inc. is not a first to apply rescue group.We re-home our dogs based on the best possible family we can find them.
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Due to the large volume of inquiries we are unable to respond to all applications. If you are considered suitable for the dog you have applied for you will be contacted witihin one week of applying.
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form - only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Browns Plains, Jindalee or Kedron vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
