Hi, we’re Maeve & Meiko! The sweetest duo.

🩶 Maeve is a beautiful but very anxious girl. She is sweet, friendly, and gentle with the biggest blue eyes you have ever seen. She is a real cat’s cat! Maeve was originally rescued from the streets, so she’s not really used to people. She tends to hide away when people are around, unless you are her trusted family. Although she seems like she would really love affection, she is a very nervous girl, so cuddles aren’t her thing. When she feels safe, you’ll catch her rolling around on her back, and unlike a lot of cats, she loves a belly rub!

Although Maeve isn’t very outgoing, she is just so sweet. It can take her a while to feel safe around you, but once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll see her roaming around more and accepting some scratches behind the ears or under her chin. She’s also quite clever and has learned to stand for treats, which she will take very gently from your hands when she is feeling up to it.

🖤 Meiko is a cheeky, friendly, curious, hungry, and loving guy. He’s an older gentleman, so he has slowed down a bit, but will occasionally have a burst of energy that sends him running around the house. He will do anything for food. He doesn’t have much to say unless he’s hungry, then he will let you know with his signature meow (we will call it an attempt at a meow). He doesn’t like to be picked up, but when he’s in the mood, Meiko can be very affectionate and will rub his head on you or climb into your lap (or onto your laptop if it’s in his way). When it’s time for bed, he will follow you and keep your feet warm during the night.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
A home with older children should be okay, as long as they understand that Maeve and Meiko will need time and space to feel comfortable in their new home.

Maeve and Meiko would appreciate a home with no other pets. All they need is each other. Maeve will follow Meiko around and cuddle with him all day if he would let her, but he will only give in sometimes.

Likes / Dislikes
We both love to snooze the day away! Maeve will retreat to her cubby or cat tower, while Meiko is happy to take the couch. We also both love Rotisserie chicken! Seriously, a rotisserie chicken hates to see us coming!

Maeve loves the sun and will sit in the window and stare at the birds. She also loves to catch flies and is very good at it. When she feels safe, and you give her a little scratch on the side above her leg, she will roll over for a little rub on her belly. She loves routine and predictability. She isn’t a big fan of change and will sometimes pee outside of the litter box, on the rug or couch, when something is stressing her out. A waterproof blanket or pad can help with this. If she feels threatened with her cat carrier, she will run away and hide, but if cornered, she may hiss or swipe to protect herself.

Meiko loves being the boss of the house. He just wants to be around you and cuddle up to you! In the kitchen, on your nap, at your feet at night - he is always involved. He will let you know he misses you by sitting in the window and waiting for when he knows you are due back. He loves guests too, he will usually come out and say hello. If your couch looks just right, he might like to scratch it, but he loses interest if you have some adhesive wrap or pet stickers on it.

Our PURR-fect home would be a quiet home with a steady routine and no young children or dogs, and someone who doesn’t mind Meiko following them around. We would love an understanding family who can be patient while we acclimate.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

*Maeve and Meiko's adoption fee includes sterilisation, vaccination, and microchip.

Medical Notes: Meiko has a history of allergic skin disease, which may result in intermittent itching, overgrooming or skin irritation throughout his life and may require ongoing veterinary management.

Meiko also had a history of adrenal disease, which was surgically treated with an adrenalectomy in 2025. He has recovered well, however due to this medical history, ongoing monitoring by a veterinarian is recommended, including periodic blood tests as advised.

Meiko had a dental with extractions in May 2025.
