Fidget

Fidget is a young, playful and affectionate boy who has likely missed out on some early socialisation. He can be worried in new environments and by new people, but he does warm up quickly when people slow down and go at his pace. Fidget would be best suited having access indoor areas and to be a part of the family. May benefit from some crate training to give him a place to go when feeling worried or overwhelmed. He spent a little bit of time in a foster home where he did sleep in a crate at night and showed that he was toilet trained. Will require a patient adopter who will continue his training and building confidence within a home setting. When he first arrived in shelter, he was very worried and did not know how to walk on a lead. Fidget has been working really hard with gaining confidence with walking on lead and harness, looking to the handler for reassurance at times.

Fidget will need a calm and patient owner who is willing to put in the time and effort for Fidget. He is a young border collie with lots of learning to do. He will need plenty of mental and physical stimulation. He is eager to please and listens well to his handler. He is very food motivated so this will help aide his ongoing training. Recommend giving Fidget daily enrichment opportunities. He is a smart boy who picks up cues quite quickly. He knows how to sit and has been working on a leave it cues, has shown some interest in toys, particularly tennis balls. He is still learning how to play and will need to meet other residing dogs at time of adoption.
