Some dogs are happiest in the middle of everything. Rio is happiest being someone’s quiet, loyal shadow - nearby for a cuddle, a walk, a sunny patch of grass, then a peaceful nap while life carries on around her.

She is a beautiful 6-year-old Saluki mix with a gentle soul, elegant legs, and the kind of devotion that makes her people feel truly chosen.

What she needs is not “just somewhere to go”. She needs a calm, dog experienced person/family that will give her the stability she deserves.

Our baby daughter is growing fast and will be becoming more mobile soon. Because Rio is not suited to a home with babies or young children, we need to make a responsible change before our daughter starts crawling - one that keeps our baby safe and ensures Rio is in a loving home being looked after. A foster home would give Rio that breathing space and allow us to continue looking for her ideal home while she is settled and happy.

Rio is a girl whose life is happiest when it is simple: familiar people, clear routines, and a home where she is the only pet.

🏠 House-trained and exceptionally well-behaved indoors
🤍 Affectionate, loyal, and a "cuddle connoisseur"
🐕 Needs to be the only pet. Rio is reactive to other dogs (barks, lunges)
🧒 Suitable for adults and older teenagers - no babies or young children
📍 Currently located in Repton, NSW

This is truly the hardest decision we have ever had to make, but we want to do what is best for both our daughter and our beautiful girl.
