Meet Martina – the classic gentle tabby with a heart full of soft affection and a serious talent for becoming your permanent shadow.

Martina is a beautiful 4-year-old female tabby who embodies everything lovely about that classic tabby personality: sweet, gentle, social, and deeply affectionate. With her soft striped coat and that warm, people-loving energy tabbies are famous for, she is the kind of cat who softens a home simply by being in it.

She was well loved by her previous family, who had her from just 8 weeks of age. They reluctantly surrendered her into care because they could no longer give her the life she truly needs – especially the outdoor exploration she craves and the constant company she thrives on. Living with a young child made those needs hard to balance.

When Martina first arrived she was a little shy (completely normal), but that chapter is firmly behind her. She has well and truly settled into her foster home and is now just another member of the pack. She’s happy to hang out with her foster brothers, groom them, and even chases them around when it’s time for a game of tag.

The gentle tabby nature is still very much there – soft, sweet, and easy-going – but once she trusts you, the Velcro side takes over completely.

This girl is an incredibly affectionate Velcro cat. Martina loves people, always wants to be near you, and becomes genuinely upset if she is separated from her person. She likes to sleep on the bed with you and simply does not enjoy sleeping alone. She prefers constant company and will happily follow you from room to room, settle nearby while you work, or curl up for quiet cuddles on her terms.

She enjoys being petted almost anywhere (just skip the belly and paws), but she’s not a fan of being picked up.

Martina is social and gets along well with other cats and dogs. She is very active and curious, thrives on playtime, and loves exploring outside, so a home that can safely offer supervised or secure outdoor access would be ideal.

She has been on a balanced diet of wet food, treats, and Purina Healthy Weight as her main food, and she adores the occasional bit of roasted chicken or ham as a special treat.

Martina would make a perfect companion for someone who lives by themselves and would like constant, gentle company. She doesn’t need a big household – she just needs one special person who will appreciate an affectionate Velcro tabby who wants to be near them all the time.

If you already have (or can provide) another cat for her to hang out with, even better, but a calm solo home with plenty of love and attention will suit her beautifully.

Martina is approximately 4 years old, desexed, microchipped and vaccinated, and is currently living in Upwey with her amazing foster family.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
