About Martina
Meet Martina – the classic sweet tabby girl with a heart full of gentle affection and a pure desire to be close to her people.
Martina is a beautiful 4-year-old female tabby who embodies everything lovely about the classic tabby personality: sweet, gentle, social, and deeply affectionate. With her soft striped coat and that warm, people-loving energy tabbies are famous for, she is the kind of cat who softens a home simply by being in it.
Martina was well loved by her previous family, who had her from just 8 weeks of age. She was reluctantly surrendered into our care because they felt they could no longer give her the life she truly needs. She has a strong desire to go outside and explore the world, something that wasn’t possible in her previous home, and living with a young child made it difficult to manage her need for outdoor access and constant company.
Since arriving she has been a little shy (completely expected), but we are certain her beautiful, affectionate personality will assert itself and shine once she finds her confidence again in the right home.
This girl is a true Velcro cat.
Martina is incredibly affectionate, absolutely loves people, and always wants to be around you. She likes to sleep on the bed with her person and becomes very upset if she is separated from them. She doesn’t like to sleep alone and prefers constant company. When left in another room she can become distressed and cry.
She is social and gets along well with other cats and dogs (she lived peacefully with a gentle German Shorthaired Pointer, often sniffing and occasionally sleeping near each other).
She enjoys affection and loves being petted almost anywhere (except her belly and paws), and she is happy for cuddles on her terms. She does not like being picked up and prefers to stay active, curious, and on the move.
Martina is very active, curious, and always eager to explore. She thrives on playtime and has a strong desire for outdoor time, she will try to get outside whenever the opportunity arises.
She has been on a balanced diet of wet food, treats, and Purina Healthy Weight as her main food, and she adores the occasional bit of roasted chicken or ham as a special treat.
Martina needs a special home with someone who can fully appreciate an incredibly affectionate Velcro cat who wants to be near you all the time, and who already has (or can provide) at least one other cat for her to hang out with so she always has company. A home that can safely offer her the outdoor exploration she craves would be ideal.
If you’re looking for a gentle, social, classic tabby sweetheart who will fill your home with soft affection, follow you around, sleep beside you, and thrive with a feline friend by her side, Martina is waiting to bring all that sweet tabby energy into your life.
Martina is approximately 4 years old, has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and is located in Upwey with her amazing foster family.
Please enquire if you think you can give this much-loved girl the secure, companionable, and outdoor-friendly home she deserves.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
