Dex - The King of Cuddles needs a foster carer
About Dex - The King of Cuddles
Meet Dex – the ultimate cuddle machine who’s ready to fill your life and your lap with endless love!
Dex is a gorgeous 12-month-old male cat with the softest fluffy white coat scattered with striking black patches. He’s the kind of cat who doesn’t just like people, he adores them with every fiber of his being.
Dex came into care after being surrendered to a vet in Frankston. His previous family found he had a habit of swallowing things he shouldn’t (like pacifiers), a behaviour known as PICA that is often linked to boredom or stress. He required surgery to remove the items.
The good news? Dex is now living in a busy, experienced foster home with two other male cats around his own age. With constant company, enrichment, and zero chance of ever being bored, this behaviour is no longer a concern. He’s settled beautifully and is thriving in a lively household.
From the very first moments he arrived in his foster home, Dex melted hearts. Within minutes of being surrendered into care he was already accepting pats, weaving around legs, and rubbing against anyone nearby. He was happy to be picked up straight away and spent his very first evening stretched out on the couch, blissfully having cuddles with his foster mum.
That sets the tone for who this boy is: a pure affection sponge who simply wants to be near you, on you, or as close as physically possible at all times.
Dex is incredibly people-oriented. He lives for pats, cuddles, chin scratches, and full-body contact. If you’re sitting down, he’ll claim your lap. If you’re walking around, he’ll follow you like a little shadow. If you’re on the couch, expect a warm, purring fluffball draped across you. He is always in the mood for love and will seek it out constantly.
This is a cat who thrives on human connection and will happily spend hours simply being near his favourite people.
If you’re looking for a cat who will greet you at the door, follow you from room to room, demand and give endless cuddles, and turn every quiet moment into a snuggle session, Dex is your boy.
Dex is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and located in Seaford with his amazing foster family.
He doesn’t just want a home, he wants to be your constant companion and the softest, most affectionate presence in your life.
Dex is ready to bring all that love into a forever home. If you think you can match his affection levels (good luck, he’s set a high bar!), please enquire about meeting this absolute sweetheart.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help
As a small, independent rescue, we depend entirely on the kindness and generosity of our supporters and animal lovers like you. If you would like to support our mission and help us save more lives, please visit the donations page on our website. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference.
We’d also love to connect with you on social media:

Following and sharing our pages helps us reach more potential adopters and supporters. If we can grow our audience, we’ll be able to generate a small ongoing income to sustain and expand the rescue.
We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Urban Feline Australia.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
