Don’t let his age fool you, Gus is a gorgeous little gentleman with a heart of gold and plenty of love left to give.
While he’s slowed down a little over the years, Gus still has plenty of pep in his step! He enjoys a leisurely stroll, a play with his doggy friends, and most of all, spending time with his people. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be wherever you are.
Gus gets along beautifully with cats, other dogs and children, very little phases this easy-going boy. He has excellent lead manners, is toilet trained, and knows how to sit… although, being a typical Frenchie, whether he actually feels like listening is another story! 🤣 One thing he’ll never say no to is food, so treats are always a great way to win him over.
Gus must have another friendly dog in his adoptive home. He does experience separation anxiety when left alone, but with a canine companion he settles well and is a much happier boy.
As Gus is a brachycephalic breed, it’s important that his new family understands the special care these dogs require. During the warmer months, he must be kept cool, have access to air conditioning or shade, and avoid walks or exercise during the heat of the day. His age, combined with being a French Bulldog, means he’s at a much higher risk of heatstroke, so careful management is essential.
*Gus can be food aggressive with other dogs, this is managed by feeding him separately and ensuring he is away when doing meal prep. He has never shown aggression to humans and is otherwise great with dogs*
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will happily join you for relaxed adventures before curling up by your side, Gus might just be your perfect match. ❤️
