About Max
Max is the definition of a loyal companion. All he wants is to be by your side, whether that's curled up next to you (or on you!) on the couch, following you around the house, or enjoying a leisurely stroll around the neighbourhood.
He's a great traveller and loves car rides, making him the perfect little sidekick for your adventures. Max is used to an indoor/outdoor lifestyle where he can come and go as he pleases, but there is one very important requirement for his new home...
Max sleeps in bed with his humans. 💤❤️
It's what he's always known, and being close to his people helps him feel safe, secure, and happy.
Max isn't overly bothered by other dogs and could happily live with another calm, friendly canine companion. However, he's definitely looking for a quieter home where he can soak up plenty of love and attention.

Medical notes
While in foster care, Max has undergone a thorough veterinary assessment, and we've discovered a few minor health concerns that we'd like to be transparent about.
Max is currently receiving Cartrophen injections to support his joints, as he is showing the early stages of arthritis. The good news is that he is not showing any lameness or signs of discomfort, and with appropriate ongoing care, there is every reason to expect he will continue to enjoy a happy, active life. As he gets older, he may require occasional pain relief to help keep him comfortable.
Max is also carrying more weight than is ideal. Helping him achieve and maintain a healthy weight will be one of the most important things his new family can do for his long-term health. Our veterinarian is confident that gradual weight loss will improve his mobility, reduce the impact of his arthritis, and enhance his overall quality of life.
He also has a benign lipoma (a harmless fatty lump) on his neck. It is not causing him any discomfort, and our veterinarian believes it may reduce in size as Max loses weight. At this stage, it simply needs to be monitored during his routine veterinary check-ups.
As part of his foster care, Max will also be undergoing a dental procedure, including a scale and polish. Depending on what is found during the procedure, he may also require the removal of a tooth. This is not uncommon in older dogs, and any dental work required will be completed before he is adopted so he can start the next chapter of his life feeling his very best.
Despite these minor health considerations, Max is a wonderful, affectionate boy with so much love to give. He is looking for a family who will support him with a healthy diet, gentle daily exercise, regular veterinary care, a cosy place to rest, and plenty of love and companionship. With the right care, there is every reason to believe Max will enjoy many happy years ahead. In return, he will reward his family with unwavering loyalty, affection, and the kind of unconditional love that only a dog like Max can give.
