About Tomas
Name: Tomas
Gender: Male
Date of Birth: 01/03/2021
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby and white
Location: Golden Grove
Trust wasn't something Tomas gave away easily. Thankfully, he never stopped wanting to believe in it.
When Tomas first appeared on his foster mum's doorstep one cold winter, he was frightened, hungry, and sleeping in a nearby drain. Every day he'd quietly wait for a meal before disappearing again. Slowly, kindness replaced fear, a warm bed replaced the drain, and before long Tomas had decided that maybe people could be trusted after all.
Today, he's a gentle, affectionate boy who loves following his favourite person from room to room, playing with toys, spending time with other cats, and curling up for a cosy evening snuggle. He's deaf in one ear, so he can be easily startled if you catch him by surprise, but once he feels safe, he's incredibly loving and gives the sweetest head boops.
Other cats are Tomas' safe place, and he needs a confident feline friend to help him settle into his new home. He's looking for a calm, nurturing indoor home with patient people who will let him blossom in his own time. A single person, couple, or retiree who enjoys quiet companionship would be his perfect match.
He's not a cat who will steal your heart on day one. He's the cat who quietly steals it forever.
People describe me as: Gentle, affectionate, sensitive, loyal
How am I with dogs? Unsure – calm dogs may be okay.
How am I with cats? I absolutely love other cats and must have a friendly feline companion in my forever home.
How am I with kids? I'm not suited to homes with children or busy households.
My purrfect home is: A calm indoor home with a patient single person, couple, or retiree, another friendly cat, and plenty of time to settle at my own pace.
Medical Note:
Tomas previously underwent surgery to remove ear polyps after coming into care with severe ear infections. He has been cleared for adoption by our veterinarian. Tomas is deaf in one ear, so he may startle if approached from that side, but this doesn't impact his quality of life and he requires no ongoing treatment.
Tomas' adoption fee is $75 which includes desexing, microchipping, parasite prevention, and initial F3 vaccination.
