About Moonface
Moonface is a desexed male Domestic Short Hair available for adoption in Northcote (Melbourne, VIC).
Moonface is a supremely affectionate cat who treats every person like an old friend. He is confident, easygoing and settles into new places without missing a beat.
He will happily plonk himself on your chest for a snooze, follow you from room to room, and ask for pats the moment you sit down. New faces do not faze him either. He is just as ready to trot up to a stranger for a play session as he is to curl up with someone he has known for years.
A little about Moonface:
🐾 Trills and chirps happily to greet you at the door
🐾 Gets vocal and food motivated the second a meal is due
🐾 Sports big, endearing chubby cheeks left over from his tomcat days
🐾 Lights up around toys and turns playtime into a full performance
🐾 Craves closeness and finds his way onto a lap within minutes
His days run on an easy rhythm of food, play and cuddles. Mornings start with breakfast on his mind, and he will let you know he is ready with a hopeful chorus of meows. Afternoons and evenings are for chasing toys, watching the world from a window, a good groom, and settling in for long snuggle sessions close to his favourite person.
Affection comes naturally to Moonface. He follows for pats, climbs into laps, and purrs the moment he settles against you. New people get the same warm welcome, greeted with trills and invited straight into a game.
Moonface will flourish as an indoor cat with a guardian who loves having him close. Being FIV positive, he needs to stay safe indoors and be the only cat in the home, or share it with other FIV positive cats, so every bit of his affection lands on the right household. He would suit a home with children, a couple, or someone living alone who wants a devoted companion by their side.
Moonface has a healthy appetite and enjoys his food, a bit of portion mindfulness keeps him at his best. He plays with real enthusiasm and can treat hands like toys during a game, something a few dedicated toys and some extra playtime manage well. He does best on Worlds Best Cat Litter.
Picture evenings with Moonface claiming the middle of the couch, purring against your side while cat TV plays in the background. Mornings mean a hopeful face waiting by his bowl, ready to start the day with you.
Moonface is ready to be someone's whole world, and to make them his. His trills, his cuddles, and his big chubby cheeked charm are waiting for the right home to settle into.

Medical notes
Moonface is in good general health and is FIV positive, which means his new guardian will keep him living indoors from now on. He's also just had some dental work done and is recovering well. His complete patient history is on file and ready to share with his new guardian's veterinary team when the time comes.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
