Some puppies lean gentle, some lean bold — and then there’s Anasazi, who sits perfectly in the middle. He’s grown up with 2 of his siblings and he’s the balance point of the trio: thoughtful like his sister, adventurous like his brother, and wonderfully himself in every moment.
When he first arrived, Anasazi was the most timid of the three when it came to cuddles — unsure about human affection. It made perfect sense, given where they came from: these three siblings, along with the rest of their litter, were dumped at an unmanned CFA station, severely underweight and terrified. After a start like that, it’s no surprise that Anasazi needed time to understand that people could be safe, gentle, and kind. With patience and trust, he’s bloomed.
Once you’ve gained his trust, he warms up beautifully, melts into your arms, and settles like a dream. It’s one of his sweetest transformations — watching him realise that cuddles are safe, comforting, and actually pretty wonderful. With other dogs, Anasazi is social and friendly. He simply walks up with an easy, polite confidence, happy to interact and happy to learn from dogs big and small.
Anasazi approaches the world with a calm curiosity. He likes to take things in, think for a beat, and then decide whether it’s time to explore or time to hang back. He’s confident without being pushy, playful without being chaotic, and clever in that classic heeler way that makes training both fun and rewarding. There’s a gentle steadiness to him — the kind of pup who reads the room, adjusts, and fits in beautifully.
Anasazi will likely grow into a high‑energy, high‑intelligence adult who thrives with structure, training, and plenty of mental enrichment. He’s already napping and sleeping in his crate with his siblings, and he’s starting to learn the ropes with toilet training. He’ll shine in a home that enjoys teaching, guiding, and celebrating his wins — whether that’s an active family, a home with other dogs, or puppy‑friendly kids who understand gentle handling.
As brave as these pups have become, these little ones may still feel unsure when they first head off to their new homes. New people, new smells, new routines — it’s a lot for pups who’ve already been through so much. With time, patience, and gentle reassurance, they’ll settle in and let their true, joyful selves shine.
